Mahogany & Merlot 2022 Part 1

The 2022 version of the Mahogany & Merlot held on Lake Chelan, Washington. We were there for all the action on Saturday, October 1, 2022. It was awesome to hear the growl of true classic unlimited hydroplanes (thunderboats). So many memories of growing up in the Seattle area and knowing that Seafair filled the summer and that the hydro's were racing on the first Sunday in August.
I was a little kid again as we took in the festivities on Lake Chelan. The event lasted from 9 am until 6 pm. Shown here in part 1 is the classic unlimited hydro's in action, giving rides after donations were given to the Hydroplane and Race Boat Museum out of Kent Washinton. as well as three boats on the water at once. What a sight and sound! Imagine when they used to run 6 to a heat! Well, any way, I'm rambling.
