It's mostly Blues, which overlaps with Lindy & tango, but is slower and better suited to closed position. :) We actually met Blues dancing, and have both been dancing for years, so we just picked a song we loved and kept it simple (and my dress kept slipping off, which was giving me a heart attack!). It was just lead-follow, but you can ask a teacher to choreograph something. Definitely take dance lessons, it's so much fun to keep up even after the wedding!

Thank you! I'm glad someone else said this finally. Now I realize I'm not alone. It seems these days everybody wants to make a big production of their first dance for the purpose of showing their guests hey look we're being funny and cute! I would much rather see the newly wedded couple lost in their own world together dancing like this.

This is the most beautiful wedding dance ever! To me this is how all wedding dances should be. The bride and groom completely wrapped up in their own little world enjoying being together and showing their love through dance. Not a memorized performance meant to strictly entertain. My favorite part about this is how you guys looked at each other :) I really hope that my first dance is as special as this.

It's swing dance, or Lindy hop. You could definitely do something like this with a year of lessons! You just have to find a good class and pick a song with a tempo that suits you. It was a very sweet first dance, I think they deserved more cheering throughout though!
