@@PowerpixelYT the stance is just a gimmick in my eyes. The real appeal comes from your speed and the fact they can be knocked down the same way old carno could with no charge the way new carno can. The stomp, sure its unique to the Dino but that would just be as if you were carno getting in bites for bleed and damage. And I say heavy weight mainly cause maia tanks alot of hits it seems.

The fact maia can crowd control 4 ceras so well is great, as that is PRECISELY what it was made for. Sadly we all know the carni mains are gonna gripe and cry about how OP it is regardless of what the Devs have explained. I hope maia stays nearly as is. It'll be so nice having something that can genuinely humble ceras and be able to actually catch them at all. Ceras lately have gotten far too cocky.

Haven't been following the news on The Isle for a while, but I must say, I *LOVE* how the devs aren't making the hadrosaurs into helpless creatures whose only advantage is being faster than their predators, but instead showing them as the absolute units that they are, people forget that sheer size, weight and muscle can and *will* beat the crap out of any overconfident carni who doesn't take it's prey seriously.

Maia doesnt need a damage buff, 3 stomps can kill a cerato, 2 can kill a dilo, Cerato isnt catching you if you dont want it to and Dilo is chasing you at its own risk. Giving Maia a damage buff is pretty much making it a speedy diablo but worse to deal with.

Yeah it’s damage is perfect imo any more and it’ll be too much for the roster as it stands right now it’s a tanky knock back and knock down Dino that is tough to hunt but also hard for it to kill things I’m just a bit worried for solo playing with these guys running around because they’ll be able to just keep knocking a solo cera down till it’s dead

We were those ceras LMAO. You didn't do any damage or barely did because you didn't follow up a lot of your stuns with a stomp attack. Whenever you did, it definitely did fuck us up. Your stomp is your main bread and butter damage dealer and will absolutely SHRED through anything smaller than you. Need to get in the habit of spamming that whenever you have the chance.

@@ThanksImGoood So shoulder bash, shove and base attack do little to almost no damage, HOWEVER they are incredibly useful because of their CC. Your playstyle should be this on Maia: Shove > Stomp > Rinse repeat till victim stops breathing. Don't bother wasting time on alt attacks, kicks, etc. They do okay-ish damage, but animations too slow or hitboxes too small to be reliable enough dps.

As much as I don't really feel like Maia should be able to bully fairly large predators like Cerato with hit-and-runs, I have to admit that this isn't really Cerato's niche. Cerato is meant to be a scavenging body bully, and can probably hold its own perfectly fine when guarding a body, but when you have Ceratos trying to hunt something that's like 3 times bigger than they are, it's their own damn funeral.

I didn't say "large" carnivore, I said "fairly large" carnivore. Cerato is one of the smaller carnivores in the game, smaller than Rex, smaller than Allo, it should even be smaller than Carno. But it's also bigger than a lot of other carnivores, like Troodon, Herrera, Omni, etc. And it's around the same size as Dilo, so I thought calling it "fairly large" was, well, fair.

Maia is the exact opposite of a glasscannon, high hp, high stam, low dmg and crowd control, I like it since it can't just kos everything like diablo can do, but is just as, if not more, complex and interesting to play. I tested the dmg with some players in the HT, and every attack doesn't deal too much dmg (we tried on the juvies that were about 1 ton, so similar to sub cera and carno).

I quite like maia as it is now. Sure it needs a few tweaks here and there, especially the hit box and how some attacks are too slow and some too fast, but I think it’s quite good. As it is now, I can see maia knocking other mid-tiers over and using the chance to flee, or utilising the variety of attacks it has to defend itself from packs of smaller tiers. It’s bleed resistance is too bad to make it good at prolonged fights, and I like how they added that in order to balance it a bit, as it has a lot of health, it’s very fast and has a wide variety of attacks.

Maia is kinda insane wow. You can choose any fight you want, because you are lightning fast too, and if you are running photosynthetic tissues you are 49+ kph fast, only a full on charging carno can really catch you. But then like maia has good stam too so there’s literally nothing to counter it rn. Crazy.

Most people forget that all the current large terrestrial carnis ingame are not made to tackle large prey, like, cerato was designed to be a body hogger, most of it's conflicts should be agains't similarly sized carnis, or just oportunistic attacks agains't herbivores in a similar size range Maia isn't overpowered, it's just balanced to deal with larger predators.

Only issue with maia, is that it's top damage is not really that good. It's more a juvi killer than an adult killer. Like Galli for example. It's attacks aren't all that good, other than the shove which is really good for Maia. Idk what to think about maia's combat so far and the damage
