Nice maiden but I didn't understand the initial "No Trim" remarks and then adding trim to both elevator and aileron. I gather the plane needed trim which is normal in most applications. Good job on the flight and using the flight modes, jeti flight modes are amazing. Thanks for all the good stuff you do for the RC community.
@JustPlaneCrazy3 жыл бұрын
Initially it needed no trim until I started to reach cruise above half throttle. Compared to even many foam planes that need 10-20 clicks immediately following take off. In essence I could have flown this plane the whole time with never trimming and I think that speaks a good bit to quality. Thanks for asking and watching. It’s appreciated.

Sweet maiden, good job! Please don't make the mistake of mixing throttle vs elevator. Flight modes with separate trimming is awesome and something to be encouraged on all models (preferably with a second or two delay between each), but throttle should always be kept completely out of that. If the model reacts in pitch when you adjust your throttle that indicates a CG problem, and not something to be attempted dialed out. Also remember to always hold your elevator stick in your stomach whenever taxiing a tail dragger - especially a warbird. Will save you propellers :D

Interesting to hear you say ‘no trim’ during climb out, as until you reach level flight you’d never be able to tell, hence adding trim after you reached level flight (albeit a very small amount 😉). Nice model and a very nice flight. Particularly liked the electric start!

Most of the time, I have done so many maidens planes really out of whack need a ton of elevator trim one way or another Esp during a climb out. This one felt great. Thanks for watching.

@@JustPlaneCrazy I'm thinking of putting an EME60 into an 86" P51 I picked up from someone (to replace the DA50). He glassed it, so it's a bit heavy, and I like speed. So I'm gonna try the EME60 and either a 23x10 CF or a 22x12 Xoar. I'm new to warbirds so this is all a bit exciting.

No trim? 2 right, 3 down? It's no shame, to need trim. And no accomplishment if you don't, you didn't build the frame in any case. If CG correctly, forward and laterally it should be good.
@JustPlaneCrazy Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that’s not the case. I had to rebuild the tail in order to make it fit. So the maiden flight was a good example of how using laser to align even an arf tail is important.
