Literally exactly what I thought lmao. Narcissism doesn't mean you're a narcissist either, everyone has narcissistic behavior. Trying to be better or stand out from everyone else out of vanity is rooted in an insecurity in yourself and your identity. Which most narcissistic behavior is. One thing to keep in mind, alternative people are often dressing to go against an oppressive societal expectation or to have solidarity in a subculture, not to be special. Though many people take it as such. If you would still dress how you do and enjoy what you do even if a billion other people did it, you're in the green.

I really loved this video guys, especially because this type of thinking segways into emotional and humanitarian discourse-- something that's very important right now. I've done some research on nostalgia as a driving force of change in the contemporary world, and everything seems to point to the idea that globalization and the increase of homogeny in media has created a push against itself, so although nostalgia is the child of globalization (and particularly westernization), it is in direction opposition of it! Keep it up!

Growing out of being a teenager and now being a young adult, I’ve come to realize there really isn’t anything wrong liking/loving popular stuff. At first I was ignoring more mainstream stuff, but sometimes the reason that stuff is mainstream is warranted! (Also it was so sad how people would judge people for liking something popular!) I didn’t like Billie Eilish at first, but then when I gave some songs a try, I resonated with a lot of the lyrics and enjoyed the music her brother created, so I just decided to keep listening. That finally let me let go of what others think of me and just enjoy any media I came across. Popular or not.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a good album nothing else matters.

Someone liked my comment so I want to elaborate on it, don't fucking stress about what others may think of your taste in anything. You don't need to justify yourself to anyone. If you like the music you like the music and that's the only thing that matters. Life is too short to be worrying about what others may think.

I’d like to think we are all the protagonists of our own stories. Since stories revolve around the main characters goals, journeys and interactions with others who are main characters of the protagonist’s world. Example: My friends are the deuteragonists/main characters of my world; meanwhile, my classmates are the supporting characters; and the customers going to my job are the NPCs in my world. But according to those customers, I’m just another NPC working at a store they like to go to occasionally.

I'm so far from being a normie that it makes me an npc. A glitchy npc that was never supposed to be in the game but you can sometimes see due to a bug.
