It's what you get when the company focused more on selling toys rather than telling a good story. This is why the Showa Riders and early Heisei Riders are the best. They also don't shy away from themes like death, hopelessness and betrayal. They even showed kids and adults getting killed or eaten by monsters, something the Neo Heisei Riders and Reiwa Riders avoid.
