Had several pinballs but, about bass sounds and music, this was unbeatable ! looked like it had a serious HI-FI inside.

This music is weird. It's as if some big recording company made it and then it was amateurishly recorded to play through the speakers of this game. There's at least two other tables I can think of that have that same, similar sound; Monster Bash and No Good Gofers. The games are great, it's just those few tables that the recorded music reminds me of a radio playing music that's behind speakers, and not music coming out of the speakers. Listen to other music from different tables and then listen to Jack Bots music. You can hear what I mean. It's like the music is hollow or something. I can't think of a better way to describe it.

My guess is this sounds lo-fi because it has a lot (all of it?) of sampled content and the game probably has a very small amount of RAM for the sounds so the sample rate has to be low. It isn't so obvious when listening through a pinball machine sound system. Games in the 80's especially had what was basically a synthesizer in them, and that is why the sound is not so lo-fi. You don't hear guitar or sax licks in them either but I am guessing this is what you meant by "different tables"?

@@jussirantala8530 they are referring to other games that use the DCS hardware. I see their point, as some other games (thinking about Theatre of Magic, Who 'Dunnit, Attack from Mars) all don't have this lo-fi, compressed sound, but use near identical hardware.
