Excellent video thank you for sharing. I have a question. I have a beautiful succulent, but like so many of my other succulents this particular one leaves are getting hard at the edge curling up and dying now I don’t put it in the sun now it’s inside horse for winter, what causes that to happen on a succulent. Thank you.

The video covers many scenarios but not my specific one. Im very new to succulents and have planted two batches so far. Both times Ive noticed the same behavior across different varieties and species. I had received the plants over courier in bare root condition. With the first batch, I immediately soaked all the plants in water mixed with fungicide, planted them and watered them again with the fungicide-water. With the second batch, I planted the plants after a couple of days of receiving them but didn't water until after 10 days. In both cases however, I noticed some specific leaves (mostly from the bottom but not always) turned yellow or orangish and then translucent and eventually dried up, while the other leaves stayed perfectly fine. This would happen to a few leaves and when they dried up, a few more leaves would be affected like this one after another. I should mention its around 35C and over 80% in humidity most of the day where I live and the succulents came from colder regions. Do you think the heat and humidity could be causing this?

Yes. Do you watch Lushgardener videos? He is in Bangalore, India and has good advice for humid climates. I do think 3 days is plenty of time to wait before watering though. With a little cinnamon on the soil plus any cuttings when you plant them 🪴

What is the ideal water retention time (days) for a soil that is considered ideal and how much time (second say) is considered good for water to leave the pot when given a good drink when the soil is bone dry? Thank you for creating such a highly informative channel and I hope my questions are not of the cumbersome (waste of your dear time) type I do apologise if so.

I'm not the video poster, but I water my succulent about once a week to a week and a half. I started beginning of this year. I have learned so much from YT, as well as my own trial and error. I add little rocks that I get from pets smart (fish gavel) with a bit of soil to half of my pots and the rest with succulent/cactus soil. I hope this helps in any way.
