Lauren Kircheis, director of research and education at the Viles Arboretum in Augusta, explains how one species usually seen in New Jersey and Maryland could thrive in Maine one day. Many others may grow here soon too as the climate warms and challenges the health of Maine species like pine and spruce trees.
