Love your videos...been watching for a while now...great to see more and more New England and North East Boys making videos here at home and showing our canoeing traditions like the great Canadian Canoists do. Well done as always.

This is a very well received message! Thank you for the kind words. It is because of messages like this that I continue to make videos. Sometimes I wonder if I will stop making videos since it is a lot of work, however when I receive a message like this it makes it all worth it. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Very much appreciated!

Well done, I must say you are pretty darn good at putting out some great content. Photography, narration, and editing are really second to none for good canoe tripping, especially in Maine. In an earlier comment you mentioned your fondness for the Chestnut Chum….made my day brother.

Robin, glad you enjoyed the video. I really appreciate your kind words. The filming as you know requires effort and thought and I thank you for recognizing that effort. The Chestnut Chum is the quietest, smoothest canoe I have ever paddled and I someday hope to acquire a Pal or a Cruiser. Tough to find for sure but I hope to one of these days. As always all the best to you Robin! 👍

That was a great fall canoe trip!! Nice to see the Mad River Canoe... she looks beautiful. That's a very nice lake with some excellent camping. Yep, your meals looked delicious, all of them. The large rock was very impressive!! I'm jealous... we had our first snow yesterday. Thanks, take care.

Thank you Nick! I always appreciate your comments. Much respect for you and what you do on your channel. Maybe someday I will have enough confidence to tackle the rigors of your adventures. Truly enjoy your channel!!!! Winter is praised by many but hard water is tough to paddle through😁. Look forward to your future videos man! It is good stuff!

I must say, that was fantastic ! Really nice editing, my friend ! That canoe is gorgeous, must be rewarding paddling that now. Your food looked so good, you should give hammocks a try for sure. I’ll bye you another ribeye if you let me know where that lake is ? LOL It’s a blast exploring looking for camping spots ! Thanks so much for sharing man ! All the best to you ! Peace ✌️

Craig appreciate it brother! The canoe handled fantastic. I still believe my chestnut chum is my favorite, as is the canoe that I built and now this one that I restored….lol. They all serve a purpose. I did eat well on this one. Had a great time. Thanks for watching man! Cheers!

Enjoyed it, David! Nicely done. Looks like a nice quiet spot. I wonder if they will have to rethink that great fire pit with the new LD24 Maine just enacted - haha.

I have seen monstrosities in regard to fire pits through the years. I take no issue with limiting the size of these behemoths. 3’ diameter fire pit is more than adequate in my opinion. Thank you Tommy for taking the time to watch. Glad you enjoyed it!

You will either love the hammock of not. I don't sleep well on the ground these days. 3rd Machias is a sweet lake gotta love the glacial erratics. I postponed my E machias river trip due to high water dreaded work loads. Still got out for some last minute brook trout in some local small streams. Ice is a ways off so I hope to still get out even if just for the part of a day now and again before freeze up.

The Amok brand seems to allow for multiple sleeping positions and I am seriously considering this brand. In regard to where I was there is absolutely no way this one would have slid by you. I am sure you have paddled here many times. The high water levels changes things and to do things safely are compromised due to the high water levels. I would like to learn more about the East Machias River. I would do that sometime with you. I will read about it tomorrow. This trip was a last minute planning thing for me after driving all the way North to get shutout. This winter I will have both knees replaced so next paddling season you will probably see a rooster tail on the stern of my canoe…..🤣

@@mainetripper I've been tempted to sell and go the Amok way but its not happened yet. I don't get up into the Machias lakes enough but that one is pretty. A number of smaller feeder streams into the Machias water shed are pretty sweet as well. After Lee hit we saw flood stage waters in the smaller streams and big water in the big rivers, the small streams drained quick, I could stand in my canoe and see debris at head level caught in the alders.

@downeastprimitiveskills7688 When I went up North I couldn’t believe what I was seeing in regard to the flood conditions. Good choice by reconsidering your trip.

This was absolutely beautiful! Just a picture! We’ve gotta get you set up with a hammock setup😁👍🏼. That site was a perfect hammocking spot! I use the ddhammocks frontline hammock because I’m claustrophobic and they designed it so the mosquito netting doesn’t lay on your face. I use a regular amazon hex tarp so not a superlight shelter but it works great! It gets me into that REM sleep😁👍🏼. Probably ask santa for an underblanket😁. I’m always intrigued by beer cans in the fire pit especially in a water access only campsite where they didn’t carry it in on their back. Even in my seriously heavy drinkin days, i would pack out all the empties. I was curious… when you’re on those mbpl areas are you allowed to stealth hammock camp anywhere you want along the shore of the lake or do you have to stay at one of the mbpl sites? Just curious. I’m a recovering alcoholic and I typically only stealth camp because I don’t want to be around drinkers. Thank you for sharing this trip with us! Take care sir. NQU

I really do need to research the best hammock style camping and I have initiated that research. In regard to camping outside of authorized campsites it is not authorized unless a safety concern is in play or weather provides for no other option. There are so many remote locations where you could easily avoid any triggers that you are doing your best to avoid. I wish you the best of luck with your personal journey. @xanderbudnick does an amazing job of talking openly about his sobriety and it is quite admirable. If you are not familiar with his channel then I would strongly recommend watching his openness and journey through sobriety. Thank you for watching and commenting. Best of luck to you!

@@mainetripper Thank you so much! Big Xander Budnick sub here! Just watched his last trip video. You’re right. I enjoy and respect his candor and humility. I also enjoy his brother’s channel as well. So much good stuff out there! Thank you for letting me know about the campsites. I guess they are first come first serve so as long as we claim a site then noone else can move in as well. That’s one of the things i like about backpacking in the green mountains is you can literally camp anywhere as long as your 200 ft off trail for camping and doin ur business and you bury it properly using LNT principles. Thanks for getting back to me MT. You take care. NQU Edit: we should be camping and doing our business 200 feet from trail and water sources.😊👍🏼
