Maine does have some amazing classic railroads. Yet somehow I feel they get overlooked quite a bit

I think they're more of a "niche" interest railway to some. Personally, I prefer the quaint and more early engines/railways compared to the more industrial and modern ones

I was just thinking of these railroads lol and low and behold there’s a brand new video on it. Has KZbin added mind reading to the KZbin studio. Lol.

Franklin and Megantic first-class coach #2 (most visible at the end of the video) looks sort of like the coaches of the Retlaw 1 passenger train at Disneyland.

True! Or even a Kimball coach from the days of yore

@@WaltsNephew I meant in terms of looks, F&M #2 looks just like the coaches of the Retlaw 1 passenger train that used to run at Disneyland.

Only B&SR #7 and #8 were built by Baldwin, WW&F #9 was built by the Portland Company and Monson #3 and #4 were built by Vulcan
@WaltsNephew Жыл бұрын
I do apologize for that haha I knew Portland had a hand in at least one of the engines and I completely forgot Vulcan was involved

My first steam train ride was powered by the Monson #3 steam locomotive at Freedomland U.S.A.'s Santa Fe Railway back in 1960. I was 7 years old and so impressed that I hoped to someday become a steam locomotive engineer!!! I became a steam locomotive engineer on the Walt Disney World Railroad from 1988-1998. ❤🚂🚃🚃🚃🚢❤

How wonderful!! I had a professor who operated the Disneyland Railroad engines for a summer and then worked on the Niágaras in Mexico and even rode on the WDWRR engines before they came to Florida

@@WaltsNephew That's awesome!!! I loved piloting WDWRR's #4 (Roy O. Disney) steam locomotive and I've always wondered what happened to the other 4-4-0 that would have become the #5?
@WaltsNephew Жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, I believe the fifth engine was utilized for parts

@@WaltsNephew I had herd that the frame was cracked and couldn't be repaired and that the remaing parts were sent to California. #4's frame was cracked but not as bad and was able to be repaired. The Roundhouse has 4 tracks for 4 train sets and an additional storage track.

Riiiiight, that's why Roy was like a Christmas present and came into operation in December rather than October. But that 5th engine, I didn't know the parts were sent over here to sunny CA. Makes you wonder...
