Not perfect. It was simplistic. Hard to believe that Prem, a foreign returned graduate could not find a job paying Rs. 2000 and he was forced to do manual labour and truck driving to earn the same. It is harder to believe that a father would give his 12th pass daughter in marriage to a groom involved in poorly paid and hard physical work.

I love the little touches they've added to the dialogues... Like how he asks Suman "Mein jaldi aaoo?" when he had to go off for work on her birthday. Because she's too shy to say it and she just nods with the purest smile on her face... Or how he tells his mom "Mein sahi ho na? Tum mere saath hai? Mujhe darne ki koi baath nahi?" and she just nods because she's also overwhelmed. This movie may have had funny lyrics in the songs (Mein larka hoon tum larki hooo!!! ok...) but those little touches in the actual dialogues and the superb casting is what I love about this film. One of the first hindi movies I watched and that's how I fell in love with hindi cinema. I learnt hindi because of movies (so I wouldn't have to read subtitles). And Salman in this era was SOOOO CUTEEE!!!

When I was 1 year old, this movie was released. And now at age 30 I fully watched it on Netflix and noticed that the girl I loved and couldn't get has exact same smile like Bhagyashree and also face structure. But sadly is polar opposite in nature to her character in movie. Feeling doomed, but at the same time couldn't stop watching this movie a million times. This movie has become like a drug, severely addicted to it. Life is fucking strange.
