It's because of the fight where he obviously lost but got the decision win over Jared Gordon. And he was adamant he won that fight. Most UFC fans that watch will agree it was a robbery, and didn't like how he reacted after the win, so it left a bad taste in peoples mouths. He said it wasn't close, and telling Joe he should pay him for this interview, and the cherry on the top screaming that the fight deserved fight of the night. Take's some humbling from his end and good fights to get respect back from fans after something like that.

Watch interviews with Tom, he says Manchester is his hometown. I think it's a marketing strategy to play into the fans of a big city.
