Hi Sir, can you please answer to this question. In cobol, 1.getting output from STEP1 2.if STEP1 output file is empty, STEP2 no need to execute 3. If STEP1 output file has some records , then STEP2 need to execute . Can you please help with this question Sir.

Its not COBOL question i guess. We can keep it in JCL, In project we will have Utility, to do a empty file check, and using return code (RC) skip/run the next steps. In COBOL program we don't need empty file check as per the project COBOL code program will exit successfully for empty files. Thank you.
