After 13 years, I consider that I am a good analyst, and it is not difficult for me to write code at all. So I choose development over support. Thank you very much for the videos, I hope more come.

Good Answer. As its a trick question Choosing development / Support may or may not be correct. They might be looking for a Support role!! choosing development may be incorrect. But in your answer mentioning "analyst - not difficult to code " tells you can develop as well. Smart.

Hi, I have 5.9 years overall it experience in that 5 years of mainframe experience.. in overall 5 years experience I have 3.4 years of experience into support and maintenance and 1.8 years into development...can you please help me what can I say if the new project is allocated and they asked me the same question which you faced as " what are you"?? In my 5 years of mainframe experience I have switched 4 organizations ..can you please guide me ..

First suggestion - stick to a company for little longer 3-5 years. Answer to the question depends what interview wants.. in the interview if the question were regarding abend-resolution -then support , if the questions are regarding coding -testing then development.

Always the answer should impress interviewers.. What if the project is on development and we say support and vice versa.

After -- of years of experience I aim to become a developer. However my experience in mainframe support role has given me valuable problem-solving skills, which I am ready to apply in any role for team's success. Please comment What was your answer in the interview Anil?
