So would you just tie this tight rig to your main line with a swivel and a lead weight so it sits on the bottom with the line going straight up towards the surface?

Is the N-gage Guru line ok to use on adjustable zigs? only ask as you mentioned about using it in 9-10ft length, it'll have the stretch to pull it with breaking. and of course with the adjustable you don't use that much line? Thanks!
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’d still use this in a 4-5 ft length 👍

As always enjoy and learn something New with each video. Are there any subtle differences for the adjustable float zig hook links ?
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV3 жыл бұрын
No not really just the length of hooklink.

I’ve never done one of these rigs, so what can this rig attach to, just a standard lead at the other end as I seen someone using like a float? Sorry I new to carping lol

Is it best to fish it as a fixed rig?? Or free running with adjustable zig float????
@jofish19673 жыл бұрын
I have a question not about zig fishing but here it is. When surface fishing for carp and they are feeding well I use a trimmed cell dumbell to look similar with a size 8 mixa hook with 12lb cruiser control line and 12lb cruiser control line for the hooklink 4 or 5 feet with Vaseline on the line and a 30g interceptor float but they always seem to ignore my hookbait but take the free offerings what advice do you have to help me please
@harryfaithfull85843 жыл бұрын
When I'm surface fishing. I tend to opt for a 15mm cell pop up trimmed down square and super glue the back of the hook to the pop-up - You can come prepared and have 5 or 6 ready to go. Surface fishing is very frustrating but I tend to get good results with this as the hook is pretty well camouflaged
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV3 жыл бұрын
Could be a few things - if it’s bright without surface ripple carp can very often suss the most subtle of surface set ups. I would try a lighter line and I’d also make sure not to trim the hookbait so much that the weight of the hook sinks it into the surface film of the water just that little bit more than than the freebies.

I've been using the Korda zig float on my last couple of trips. Having a nightmare of a time with tangles on the cast! Using dissolving foam and everything - Are you just fishing this direct to a lead clip?
@liontibbs54413 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean Anything more than a metre u get tangles, even with foam.
@thfcdan19863 жыл бұрын

You say the mono is pre-stretched and then say 5 to 10ft length will have plenty of stretch, don't make sense to me.
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi, its because there is still a little stretch remaining in pre-stretched line - not really enough for very short hook links, say under 12" as sudden movements put too much strain on the knots, but with Zig type hook links that are much longer the small amount of stretch is extended and much more absorbent of such strain. Although with any 'light' hook link its always a good idea to play fish carefully especially when they approach the bank/net.
