If you had a “game changing” player at your team, would you want them to leave midway through the season? Especially if you were teetering on relegation, champions league, or winning your league? The echelon of player arsenal needs are the type of players that teams have literally built their team around. No club is going to let that asset leave in the middle of the campaign. Lisbon is ONE point in first with a game in hand, and Bilbao are 6 points in 4th but Porto has a game in hand. Yeah, Williams has a release clause, but, the amount of love Williams has for the club is too deep to want to leave this month. So both teams are battling for their own seasons, and both players are in love with those clubs. Newcastle are 1 point behind fourth and directly battling Arsenal for the carabao cup. No one, we as fans want Arsenal to sign, are actually available this month.

There is absolutely no chance of Newcastle selling Isak right now while shooting themselves in the foot with the world knowing Newcastle will be in the market for another centre forward and have just 3 weeks to get a replacement with Osula not ready and Callum Wilson injured. We should have learned from the Carroll sale that not having a replacement in January killed our momentum plus at a time when Ashley sold almost anything that moves, we aren’t that Newcastle United anymore. I actually hope we can match his ambitions and he can sign a new vastly improved contract because the lad deserves it
