Hey, i noticed that your fan controllers are all manually controlable via the GUI. Currently, only my hot en fan is manually controlable. Do you think you could tell me how to make the all controlable like yours?

This is exactly what I was waiting for!! Awesome!! Now the last thing I need to figure out is how to get Moonraker to communicate with my Kasa Smart Strip. After that, I'll be making the switch 100% to Mainsail

@Vez3D By the way little idea, wouldn't it be possible to use the 5160 HV's with a 24V board IF you manually connect the wires except for the 24V one and get the positive supply off of a 48V supply instead? That could perhaps be an interesting upgrade for alot of people who have the regular mainboards (Octopus 1/1.1, SKR, MKS etc..)? That way the stepper driver gets the 48V supply but you don't risk damaging components on the mainboards, and you can run stepper drivers on different voltages whenever you feel like it
@Vez3D
@Vez3D 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you could. And I did that in the past...but you also need a 60v or 100v cap....and you have to be careful to noy shutdown the 48v psu while the 24v is on or you blow the drivers. A safer way is to use the Annex engineering super nova...and keep you board
@BH4x0r
@BH4x0r 2 жыл бұрын
@Vez3D Interesting, that board looks nice.. however i feel like it might be fine if you'd add something to slowly ramp down the voltage? AFAIK the instant poweroff is the thing that kills our drivers because of all of the energy stored in the stepper coils get discharged through the down-powered chips? maybe even a good cap bank with power input detection via a mosfet or something to directly turn off the EN to the drivers if something went wrong on the input so they can slowly discharge in voltage while the steppers are unpowered already That board looks nice though, but i like tinkering :D I feel like it would be nice to maybe make a board dedicated to that so drivers won't blow themselves on any board incl the BTT Octopus Pro

When i try to activate the timelapse component like at 8:24 It doesnt work. When I reload after pasting [timelapse] into the moonraker.cfg It doesnt show as a new feature in Mainsail. It does show timelapse in the update manager though. Anyone know what I did wrong here?

@@frysennberg np, just made sure if it was or not. honestly maybe i should switch to Klipper either way but i've also got an RRF board.. uh well was planning to build a new large printer either way, and RRF already has a control similar to this, the new printer will get klipper with an octopus.
@BH4x0r
@BH4x0r 2 жыл бұрын
@@androiduberalles Yeah i don't like how you have to define everything in a config file, however otherwise it's just as simple as getting your boards pinout pdf and enter the ones ya want to use, guess it'll be for my Octopus build which will be in the future as i aint got enough money rn to really justify building a whole printer, i'd rather keep a reserve for if i really need it and linear rails are rather expensive especially on large machines also lots of design work to do as i still need to design the majority of it as i like the available ones, but i really want it 500x500x500(or 1000 high build area even..) and there aren't alot of options for printers this big out rn lol, i guess i could use a 500x500 HevORT design but oh well.. yeah aint for directly

Honestly consider the switch. Just a pi and possibly a $5 bootloader. Not the hardest thing in the world given your printer is still pretty standard. Learning curve seems daunting but once you get it is beautiful

@jchristensen2022
@jchristensen2022 Жыл бұрын
@@ZorAxe The fresh install worked from memory... it has been a while, however (coincidently) I have just yesterday done another fresh install because of other issue that I could not fix in the RPi install, however installing Timelapse now seems so much easier to install and it works out of the box (pretty much), of course there are a few little tweaks to do but nothing complicated. HIGHLY recommend to anyone, once your up and running and you are sucessfully printing, create a clone of that working SDcard.
