Insanely comfy video. I watch this every 3 months or so, usually when I can't sleep. So soothing. I miss world of nintendo.

I always like watching how everyone goes about cleaning games, systems, and controllers. Everyone has different methods and its nice to pick up more effective ways of going about it. The bleach is a good idea for sanitizing. God only knows what germs have been growing inside. Thanks for the video!

Just think, in 30 years we'll be watching videos on HoverTube 4D on our Holoputers on how to clean vintage WiiU Gamepads

For drying electronics, leaving them in uncooked rice overnight will really do the trick, if you want to be absolutely sure no water is left.

Nice video. Now, all I need is the tool to open and clean my GC controllers.

I always notice NES and SNES controllers can get pretty dirty. N64 mostly in the Joystick area cause of dust from grinding in party games. I should take mine apart as well. I usually just take wet wipes and go around the d-pad and buttons, not the best method. I use Q-tips a lot more for cleaning controllers and carts.

Nice video. I've been doing the same thing for years, although I don't use bleach (just soap). I thought I was the only one who was this fanatical!

hey Bob, do you use movie maker to edit? how to you get the red glow sort of thing around the text in the beggining?
@yauy10 жыл бұрын
PREDiTorT6 Actually, I use a program called PowerDirector. Unfortunately, I don't think Movie Maker has text formatting like that.
@EntertainMeofficial10 жыл бұрын
darn, have you ever worked with movie maker, would the transition be simple to powerdirector, because i would like to change to something better lately.
@yauy10 жыл бұрын
16-Bit Cole there was a bit of a learning curve with powerdirector but if you can use movie maker proficiently, i'm sure you'll be able to do the same with another program.

Nice video are you doing one per console?
@yauy10 жыл бұрын
TheGamingBrothers Probably not exactly one per console but I do plan to try to make videos for maintenance issues that are specific to particular consoles.

Will this help with the yellowing?

Try a little thing called retro bright for yellowing.

Bleach will dry out and damage plastics and rubber. Plastics become brittle over time and cleaning with bleach may accelerate this process. A mild dish soap and water is sufficient to clean the controllers. I also use Lexol Vinylex as a final step to clean and protect all plastics and rubber from old videogame equipment.
@yauy10 жыл бұрын
isunshin999 I agree that soap can and probably should be used instead of bleach if you're worried about damaging the plastic or rubber. The small amount of bleach I use and the low frequency with which perform this cleaning process really poses no threat.
