We have owned and still own several Dyson products. I can’t explain the level of frustration we are experience with Dyson Support in resolving a problem with our V12. In less than a year the Motorbar cleaner head is inoperable and doesn’t work. So far we have been sent two replacement cleaner heads. Both were the wrong heads. It’s has been such a time consuming experience, with any resolution in sight. We are looking into unloading and selling all of our Dyson purchases and will tell everyone we know to reconsider their own purchases.

I’m going through the same except mine won’t even power on despite all of the “troubleshooting” steps provided. Like watching this video. Somehow this is going to make my battery magically charge. Instead of replacing the crappy battery like the hundreds of reported cases on Reddit have reported, they rather waste your time. So I have a $650 paperweight that failed within 4 months of ownership.

Is it normal for large amounts of dust to accumulate outside of the transparent bin? When I dismount the bin for cleaning, huge amounts of dust come out of the side vents surrounding the central nozzle. It’s as if dust that is supposed to go into the bin is going somewhere else. Is this normal?

Hi Judith, Sorry to hear of your concerns. You may want to check that your bin is properly seated, thereby sealing off any chance for dust to escape while the unit is in use. Let us know if further help is needed!

Yeah I see this happening too.. if I clean those parts out with a brush and shaking the vacuum. Huge and I mean huge amounts of dust are trapped up there.

same i find it rather satisfying to knock out a huge chunk of dust trapped in there ngl 😂😂😂 but i dont think its going anywhere other than being trapped there..i mean...think about it if its escaping out into the open its nt going to be trapped there or at least most of it wont be.

What is the optimal interval for cleaning? every 2 weeks? every month?

In normal domestic use, we recommend washing the filter once a month. Allow it to air-dry completely before refitting it, which may take at least 24-48 hours.

getting the ultra fine dust out of the cleaner box is not easy. it often tends to drop down to the floor or move into air where I breath it in. in this case the bin of the dyson 360 eye was far better to clean up!

To remove the bin first pull it with the red grab. then a small red lip appears. press it and you get the bin out completely. The hepa filter end can be removed by rotating to the left. 🙂

yes, there is a flexible extension hose available for the Dyson V12. Keep sure you get the right one because parts of the larger cleaners don't fit here.🙂
