Nice trailer! But I think the chainsaw bar is going to take a beating hanging down like that. I would suggest mounting it a little higher and/or incorporating a scabbard to protect it.

Hey man, it's Saxon. I'm on 100 acres in NB. We'll be building a timber frame house with our own trees over the next year. Good video. I need one of those carriages. Luckily, I have access to a skidder for the time being. If you're ever in NB, reach out.

Long time man! Anything that skids logs is a skidder to me! We just got a new tractor for pulling logs out as well. Looking at a sawmill and processor now!

I know a few people with similar setups. Where I’m at we do all of our firewood work in the winter. The logs skid way easier on frozen snow covered ground.

@nseric1233 very true and normally I would agree but the swamp makes for really bad ice and not always great with water flow underneath. The trail should help now!

A idea is build or get a cradle with wheels for the back of logs would move easier and less stress on everything

Maybe a snatch block to help double the strength of the winch. And like the other gentleman suggested a dolly for the back of the log to rest on

@robertnunley4846 if I were milling these logs I would consider it for sure.

You should carried two chainsaws and blocking blocks, just in case your bar gets Jammed. Also I wanna say , you can be like Shrek and now say, "THIS IS MY SWAMP"...Maybe I'll send some Fairy Tale Things There . 😂

only issue i see is the chainsaw bar is low hanging fruit . but nice set up !

😅you are going to want to have a scabbard on your saw or you will be using a dull chain quite a bit.

You are meant to lift with the winch fully then choke with the chain and then lower the winch so the weight of the log is fully in the chain .. Your poor winch was geting the full weight of the log slaming up and down as you speed of home ..
@MainvilleATV3 күн бұрын
@andyeynort1 oh I am aware, I just couldn't get it high enough to drop on the chain. It handled it regardless.
