@@KINGDOM_COME_ both are great. Grand soir more versatile, you can over spray and it’d be fine. If you get heated and the weather gets to hot, angels share can be choking . So light spray with that one on the setting.

The notes you list in this video for Grand Soir (2016) look more like the notes for Absolu Pour Soir (2010). Other than the rose you mention, it sounds like you're describing the more limited notes in Grand Soir. I do question whether the notes listed in most sources (Fragrantica, MFK website, other KZbins) are complete as I do get some faint floral or berry briefly when the amber starts creeping in after the opening dries down a bit. I wonder if this floral/berry is that same thing you were getting when you mentioned rose. I also get that cacao/chocolatey... and it is divine! I think that's just how the vanilla and tonka are blended. Whatever, It's beautiful. I don't have this one on my shelf but I would like to, especially since my sample vial spilled! :( Thanks for your enthusiastic review! I love hearing other people's thoughts on fragrance!

I feel like I'm on a little island alone because I can't for the life of me get the love for this fragrance (or BR 540). I was so excited to smell it and when I did all I got was straight Anbesol. I got no sweetness, no rose, no honey, nothing except toothache medicine. 😄 Interestingly, I get the same medicinal vibe in BR 540, only that one smells like a surgical scrub room to me; iodine, betadine, and other antiseptic soap, although it does not smell soapy, just the general idea of medicine that cleans scrapes and wounds. My olfactory system is just not ready for MFK, I guess, but I want to keep trying until I can at least 'get' one of the fragrances. Had to do the same thing with Mugler fragrances--absolutely hated every one of those until I smelled Alien and that one was just barely tolerable.

Yeah Grand Soir is my joint.Picked up a bottle in Paris.Fam two summers ago I went to Medellin Colombia for 8 days.The weather is warm year round.I brought 3 frags with me.My daytime joints when I would hit the town was Le Labo's Bergamote 22 layered with Escentric 01 by Escentric Molecules.They shined like LED lights in the Colombian Sun,got mad noticed....but bruh.I saved Aqua Vitae Forte as my night out frag.Let's just say the Colombian senoras couldn't get enough.Got insane compliments.Always do when I rock that,but I'll never forget how it SLAYED on my trip to South America.Nice mention..Big ups/Peace
