My favorite of the line is Mortel. To me, it's fresh-warm incense, if that makes sense - not cold or metallic, luckily. Olim reminded me a lot of Unum Opus 1144, Bruma of Iris Nazarena, and Deux of Navegar. My favorite candle by the house was a Christmas special one: Gabriel. But I also enjoy Spiritus Sancti, which is reminscent of Mortel. ZGO looks like such a nice store. Too bad I missed it by half an hour (after closing time on a Saturday) when I was in San Francisco four years ago.

I have never heard of their candles or perfumes! They sound luscious. I enjoyed lusting over everything behind you in the video! The iris and violet frag sounds incredible. I'm in Ohio. I have so many fave violet frags, but my fave iris is Santa Maria Novella.

I loved this review!! I was so happy to see you talk about scented candles. I love burning scented candles every day. Though, like you, I prefer to invest my money in the actual perfume than a super expensive candle. I am not familiar with this perfume house but I really like the variety of perfumes you discussed. Mortel is my favorite of them all. Judging by the notes, it sounds similar to one I own by Jo Malone called Minuit Enchantee. It was a limited edition scent that I wear sparingly because you can't get it anymore. It's loaded with spices and incense. It's my favorite scent to wear in the winter. I live in the USA (PA)

I’ve never heard of this house, but it sounds very interesting. I’m glad you’re reviewing it because it reminds me of how Diptyque got their start in perfumes with their scented candles, and they make fantastic fragrances. Revolution is actually most intriguing because I love really smoky fragrances like IA City on Fire. It takes me back to when I was a Boy Scout when we would put out the campfire lol. It’s great how fragrances can do that. Anyways, thanks again for the review! PA, USA

Great video. II - (Deux) sounds the best to me since i do love fig fragrances. I am curious about the performance cause in general fig based perfumes are on the average side. Thanks for the chance, Oakland CA

i have the ii bottle and love fig too. love it! but do note it really doesnt last long at all. very poor, actually. its great for a fresh start to mornings at the office but expect it to get lost by lunch. :/

Cool vid spotlighting local perfumeries. I am a candle person and I'm familiar with Maison Trudon candles. My only issue with candles is that they often don't smell the same when lit. Smokey fragrances have been appealing to me lately whether its from a type of vetiver uses, burnt woods or incense. So the cold smoke incense-y of Revolution is up my alley. California

Hi. I enjoyed your review of the Trudon fragrances. I've only tested Bruma and Revolution thus far. My favorite was Bruma, a warm, cozy iris.I also liked the "carroty", rooty note you spoke of. My favorite iris scents are Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist and Iunx Eau Blanche(on the colder spectrum of iris fragrances). I'm enjoying the new Gizeh candle and thought the Egyptian packaging was cool👍🏽. I'm in southern California.

Just got Deux and Revolution. Revolution after about 20 min dry down it really developed a beautiful warm sensual fragrance very much incense driven and good for collet weather. Your reviews are always a pleasure to listen to and you should feature a new review again from Cire Trudon

Olm sounds best to me ! I have been wanting a classic, but mysterious scent ! I am from the USA in MS. I loved that you get visually descriptive about the fragrance. I thank you for bringing new niches to our attention and also like that you talk about the fragrance compositions. I dont know of any fragrances like olm, but I cant imagine scandal by Roja is somewhat similar.

Great descriptions of all of the scents and I liked Bruma the most. My favorite Iris scent is Hermes Iris Ukiyoe. I love candle and will have to check this line out. You are always introducing me to new things. I live in VA in the US! :-)

I've never tried Maison Trudon yet and I would love to sample them. The one I'm interested in would be Bruma, the notes sound something I'd love. That Moroccan Mint candle is to die for. They seriously need to make a men's fragrance after this candle. I like your honest approach. I laugh a little bit because my taste in fragrances is 180 degrees from yours, which is great. Revolution would unquestionably be my favorite fragrance from this House. Very close to A City on Fire but not quite. More like By the Fireplace from Maison Martin Margiela. Great video. I would love to check out the 5 fragrances. I live in Pennsylvania.

I know you said it was your least favorite, but Revolution sounds the best to me. "Smoke bomb" matches me perfectly. xD But I must say, you made them all sound wonderful, and I also LOVE candles, so thanks for pointing that out! In regards to what smells like Revolution, I don't think anything I have does, but I usually smell kind of smoky anyway since I cook on the open fire a lot of the time. Hence why smoke bomb would suit me. :p I'm from Michigan, by the way.

I LOVE their candles. Have (had) several. Wasn't that crazy about the frags. Kept thinking I was wearing a "candle" scent. Kind of odd, but I will just stick with their candles. They are awesome!

Loved this honest review. Favorite is Revolution, sounds the best to me and reminds me of Charcoal by Perfumer H. I love the Pondicherry candle by Cire Trudon which smells like an Indian flower market. I’m in TX thank you!

I’m attracted to the idea of this house, with it being involved with French history. They all sound amazing, but I’m intrigued by Revolution bc I like A City on Fire. I’ve wanted their candles for so long. Are the candle scents the same from the 1600s? Or have they changed?

I have never heard of the Maison Trudon house before. I would agree with Sebastian regarding Bruma being the best fragrance. I enjoy Iris and Leather scents like Dior Homme and Valentino Uomo Intense. I think I would also like Revolution because I like smoky fragrances like Imaginary Author's City on Fire and John Varvatos Dark Rebel. I live in Ohio. I have never heard of this house. Fragranced candles and perfumes should go hand in hand. I like the idea of the Bruma as well. I am not sure which other fragrance would be similar.
