I remember back in the 90s when Maisto had Matchbox type superfast wheels, and some of the Maisto castings were similar to some of the Matchbox castings...no 2 companies were related...

I have a few maisto in my die cast collection. Including some marvel and star wars cars. They also make original non license that look petty interesting. That low rider and outlaws sets looks crazy hot. I'll take any cars produced from the 70's down.

I'm interested in the Chevy pickups and Blazer, the Riviera and 59 Chevy look good too. The 454ss is a 90-92 model, not a 99, but it looks sharp! What retailers are going to be carrying these?

I would love Maisto so much more if the wheel fitment on the cars wasn’t so bad. Why does every car have wheels way inside the wheel well? Makes them look horrible.

I think they're going for the 'tubbed' hot rod type look, but it's really hard to get that right on such a small scale model.

A note on this subject. I noted castings like the basic 2014 Corvette fixed this problem by adding small extensions on the base to take the wheel out a bit. One of the Lamborghini castings did the same thing. So stuff is being done at some level on some castings.

@@THE_HW_MASTERS i looked at some of my maisto castings and found the other one they changed the base tooling on. It is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 casting in base fresh metal range. It too has been fixed so the wheels are now out closer to car body. This is not something that is normally really noticed by most collectors seeing it is not a hot wheels. For those that have these castings keep an eye out for this little detail.

This is just a small section of the new catalogue. They have way more vehicles in other scales.
