You totally make sense! This year will be the first where I don't have my kids Xmas morning 🥺 I just remind myself that my co parent and my twins deserve to make those memories as well..and despite my divorce not being my choice either..it's all about perspective to get ourselves to be ok. 😪 But I do allow myself to feel sad for a short moment. I really enjoy your content because it's refreshing to know I'm not the only one going through what I'm going thru. Our stories have a lot of parallels! 💫

Hi! I’m a divorced lady as well but we did not have kids. He essentially did not work for the majority of our marriage so I have to pay him alimony for over 4 years 😳 I will tell you that it is hard to stop talking or negatively thinking about someone in multiple aspects of the divorce process. I only have 7 months of alimony left and I’ve already happily remarried but sending my ex money every month is one of the most infuriating things I’ve ever done 😤 thinking about you and sending happy thoughts for all divorced people in all circumstances!

I split with my husband about a year ago. I feel a lot of what you're saying. We do shared parenting swapping every week. I've really worked on framing my weeks alone as time for me to take the best care of myself so that when I have my kid, I can give them the best me and my full attention. I focus on eating better, getting good sleep, doing what I need to around my home, having therapy, getting friend time, etc. Then I can be fully present when I'm with my kid.

I have a friend who has been a widow for over 20 years, she still speaks about her loss of her husband. It is a part of who she is. Your divorce is a part of your life story -- of who you are. It does affect how you live today, especially because of the kids, but also because you shared 17 years of your life with this person. That would be like telling you not to talk about being a mother when your kids grow up get married and leave the house. There is still a connection. I am saddened that others want to tell you how to feel and how you should act. You are doing a great job. Keep up being yourself.

love that you talk about your X and divorce because your story am sure helps so... many other women its important that other women know they are not alone. I’m @ 10 minutes in, and I have a suggestion for organizing any area. Keeping like items together goes a long way to helping keep the kitchen organized, but also consider arranging according to what item is used where. For instance, next to the oven you have large drinking cups, and over a bit are your plates and bowls. If you think about use and flow it makes a lot of sense to have those dishes next to the stove and the cups closer to the fridge. I know that’s a while inter level of organizing and home keeping, but it’s so worth it! Also, I love how engaging your video is, I’ll be nosing around your channel a while!

You are absolutely right: decluttering is a long process and it takes a long time to get to a point where you can say, that's it, I'm happy with the way things are. Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sad to hear of the experiences you had. I agree, women sharing their experiences is so important. There may be someone out there, watching your video that has a light-bulb moment because, it's sad but true, but a lot of psychological abuse can be subtle. If it doesn't feel right, then it's not right. Many blessings to you and your family x

I watched you declutter your kitchen the first time around... It took you many sessions and you were so focused! And soon after the marriage went belly-up. Will be interesting to see what this declutter brings your way. Hang in there! You are on a good path!

Girl yes, thank you for sharing. I’ve seen a lot of comments of people sharing that they have had similar stories to yours and I’m also one of those people who have a similar story to you too. It seems like our kid’s dad are different pages out of the same book! ( mine did it while I was pregnant with our second daughter) So yes people will say don’t talk about it but you keep doing what makes you feel good. You deserve to do what you want. You hit me right in my heart about not having kids just to see them part time cause that’s how I feel as well with mine. We have our kids and want to see them everyday. waking up/ going to sleep without them is heartbreaking. Also love the decluttering part too lol. Keep following your instincts, I know it’s hard when there might have been a time you didn’t always because of trying to have hope in things. Videos are great and you’re a great mom.

Mai I can relate with you when you said being criticized, walking on eggshells and you make the tiniest mistake and he blow up. Then you said once you realized that was not normal and you stood up for yourself that's when your marriage ended. This exact same thing happened to me. I stood up for myself and defended myself from all the lies that my husband made about me and marriage over. I spent 25 years with my husband. That's 25 years I won't get back. I spent my entire adult life with this person, only to be tossed aside like garbage. I too was a good wife. I wonder work full time, clean the house, pay bills and all that other stuff. Thank goodness my child is an adult. I feel sad with you that you won't be with your children for the holidays.

Everyone has their biases and opinion but you have definitely shown so much of your story that it has changed my attitude. I am not divorced, but I have always kept all pictures of me and my exes. I don’t repost them or scroll to reminisce but I don’t delete them. So occasionally those do come up on my memories as well. However, my reason for not deleting is because even though the relationship didn’t end badly, it wasn’t always bad. I feel that’s the same for Mai, if she didn’t love him at some point in time, she wouldn’t have married and had kids with him. She will still have some family vacation memories with him in it but that doesn’t mean he needs to be erased. I try to remember the good times with fondness and know, even though it ended badly, I improved myself, hopefully the other person can now learn and improve themselves, and we can move on in our own ways. We don’t need to pretend it never happened because that’s how we grow as people.

Your ex was clearly a terrible husband, but he gave you your greatest gift, your boys. And he taught you valuable lessons on what you do NOT want in your life. This helped you become who you are today, a loving mother who has learnt to set boundaries and who sees red flags you were not aware of before, which is why so many positive changes have now come to your life. It's only natural you still feel uneasy when it comes to your ex, but it will get better.
