Some small detail information about the music and the "Sundanese"☝🤓 This type of music, the tempo, the flute's pitch and the instrument they used as I heard, are called 'Kecapi Suling' (Khe-tcha-pee Soo-lieng) as we can heard the Kecapi instrument (I assume they use another type of Kecapi not Sundanese Kecapi) in the beginning 0:08. Kecapi is a Zither-type of instrument they sounds like a western Harp but have more strong sound but this one is too soft to be heard as a Kecapi. Then on 0:12 comes the Flute or Suling then the Tarawangsa instrument followed at 0:33, this is pretty much sounds like Sundanese Kacapi Suling music. The Sundanese lived on the same Java island with the Javanese, have the same austronesian root (recent studies suggested that Sundanese is mixed Austroasiatic) yet these two have quite distinct tradition and culture. Sundanese predominantly lived on the western half of the island (Banten, Jakarta the capital and West Java province) but the Javanese centered on Central and East Java Sundanese and Javanese is called as a "far sibling" because some of Java's king were descendant from some Sundanese royal nobleman The founder of Majapahit himself, Raden Wijaya, is the son of prince of the Galuh Kingdom, Rakyan Jayadarma (one of Sundanese kingdom located at now Sumedang regency) even the first recorded kingdom in the Java island is actually a Sundanese kingdom called Tarumanagara, descent from the vague Indian-style kingdom of Salakanagara located at western part of Java Island The distinction between the Javan society and the Sunda society during medieval period is that Javanese had develop a more feudal and urbanist society but the Sundanese rather keep their traditional-rural and egalitarian-pacifist society Some peoples might say this is an irony use Sundanese music for the mighty Javanese Majapahit Kingdom, it is not without a reason. Sundanese had a bitter past with Majapahit Kingdom During the Hayam Wuruk's reign, Gajah Mada were apppointed as a respected prime minister of Majapahit and the advisor of the King, Gajah Mada suggested the King to initiate a royal marriage between him and the daughter of the Padjadjaran's King, Princess Citraresmi Dyah Pitaloka who were famous of her beauty to make a strong alliance with Sundanese Kingdom. Gajah Mada (assumed) has ulterior motive to "conquer" Sundanese kingdom through marriages but he never tell the King of his real intention. He has this ambition, an oath, to bring any kingdom in the Malay Archipelago (the Nusantara) to be under the power of Majapahit Kingdom. It's believed Majapahit's kings never wanted conquer the Sundanese, they can't conquer them by force or subdued them passively because Raden Wijaya (the founder of Majapahit) have a lineage to the Sundanese nobles and they always respected the noble lines The Padjadjaran King, Maharaja Linggabuana Wisesa, seeing nothing suspicious with the message after make sure Sundanese would remain independent after the marriage, accepted the offer then proceeds with massive carriages consists more than 100 members of noble families and royal guards, leaving only his last son who still 9yo, some of his old relatives and some of their ministers in the Palace. During their way to the capital of Majapahit in Trowulan, they encamped at Bubat Square a regency north of Tworulan Gajah Mada seeing this as an opportunity to submit the king under Majapahit's influence. He going with hundreads of soldiers march to the Bubat Square, order an envoy to ask the Sundanese King if he would submit his power to Majapahit. The Sundanese's nobles were shocked and feels cheated by the news. The king angrily asks the envoy to tell Gajah Mada to cancel the wedding and they would immediately leave the scene During the process, Gajah Mada stopped the member of the family who want to flee to the harbor in the north, they circled the encampent and the whole Bubat Suqare. Gajah Mada asks again would the Sundanese submit their kingdom to the Majapahit and stated the marriage of their daughter would be a token of submission and she would be treated nicely Humiliated by the speech, Maharaja Linggabuana Wisesa ordered all of his royal guards and male relatives to draw their weapon, strengthen their stance, ready for war and to make a way for the females member to escape to the port Seeing the King not agree with the offer, Gajah Mada ordered his army to attack and battle happened in Bubat Sqare. This would be known as Bubat War or Bubat Tragedy (Pasunda Bubat) in Parataton, Carita Parahyangan and Kidung Sunda scripts All Sundanese nobles were annihilated during that war including the king and his daughter, some of the females member who were captured including Princess Citraresmi Dyah Pitaloka, committed suicide called 'Bela Pati' in order to defend Honour and Dignity not only to their king and their kingdom but to themselves too The dead of most Sundanese noble family were mourned by the Sundanese, hatred and suspicion grew from Sundanese people which it evolved into a taboo/prohibition custom (Pamali) that Sundanese should not marry the Javanese or they would met their doom. This taboo custom still persists in some old generation of Sundanese people and maybe on some rural or tradition protected area of Sundanese villages. In modern times we are free to marry whoever they are tho

@@baku_m_salti3128 both are on java, but different ethnic group and language altogether (although the same broader Austronesian group). Why it feels so Sundanese rather than Javanese or Balinese? Sunda music has more distinct characteristics than Java to Bali. For example: the bamboo flute emphasis, while Javanese and Balinese both have more emphasis to gamelan. Sunda also had its own well respected kingdom: Tarumanagara, which influenced the western part of Java Island. While many kingdoms and sultanates in central & eastern part of Java as well as Bali were more influenced by Majapahit. Anyway, if there will be Tarumanagara, this will be a very good choice. Love this music.

The clue I can take from this image is Raden Vijaya will lead Majapahit!

Hayam wuruk menurut saya
@RadenVijaya7 сағат бұрын
@Blekoecott5555 when Hayam Wuruk's reign begin, Majapahit was already an established empire. Not just a small village as depicted on the backdrop. But it's also possible as he is the greatest king of Majapahit...

It seems this team is fascinated by literally anyone BUT western civilizations. It going to be a very interesting game that looks absolutely nothing like a classic Civ game, plays nothing like a classic Civ game, and portrays the world with a worldview that seems to be very popular among the intelligentsia that also looks nothing like a classic view of the world and it's peoples. Oh, and you can pay more for the privilege!

WTH are you on about? They’ve shown plenty of European civs, just last week we had Spain and a teaser of Mexico.
@hidingindanielsroom72683 күн бұрын
Greece, Rome, Normans, Spain so far. And we already saw Napoleon in 2 dresses so you can expect France too. Machiavelli from Italy too.

Not to mention Benjamin Franklin of Persia!

What the fuck is your idea of a "classic view of the world and it's (sic) peoples, I wonder? 🤣
@lucaventinove31513 күн бұрын
Dude, the world is so vast and so full of civilisations, there's no need to be eurocentric. Also we already have many Western civs: Rome, Greece, Spain, Normans, France, Mexico are already confirmed, we can safely assume that Britain, USA, Germany will be in the game in the modern era. With that there would be 9/31 civilisations from the West, considering the possibility of having more western civs in the modern era that makes one third of all civilisations western. I repeat, one third of all civs are western. Compare that to Africa, which has 4 (counting Egypt which is more Middle Eastern), the ME which has 3 so far (again counting Egypt which imo is Middle Eastern, if not then only 2), the Native Americans have 4 (with the Shawnee, otherwise 3), East Asia 4 (counting the already announced Japan), SEA only 2 and India only 3. Even if we get another Chinese iteration and another Native American civilisation they would still be merely half the number of the Western civs. I think we got the best outcome out of anyone else
