MAJESTIC 1954 PONTIAC STAR CHIEF CONVERTIBLE

I was 6 years old when my next door neighbor bought a 1954 Pontiac Convertible for his wife. I remember " Il s'est vanté" to have bought it for just $6 under $3000. Même moi comme gamin adoré la voiture. It was Green and had a green interior with a tan soft top. Everyone even back then would oggle when that famous indian head hood ornament would light up. My mother and I would accompany my neighbor and her daughter (who was a year older than me) each summer to their summer hut in Forked River New Jersey. We'd drive all the way from Belleville, N.J. with the top down. You forgot to mention that not only was this the last year for the inline 8 but that the straight 8 was a flat head not an overhead like the Buicks.

That is a beautiful Pontiac, this is when cars were made with pride and quality the Fisher designs of the 50s the best.
