Lyrics Someone said the story's over, someone said the end Someone even bravely called it Judgment Day But hope is gettin' back, and all the glory that we lost Will never be forgotten, never once again will fade away Germany, the Netherlands, and France, and USA All of us united, won't be silent on this day when The fields they may be empty, and the air it may be still The echoes of our memories are all we feel Oh, but the day will come when the music is heard once again For those we have lost, for the damage it caused We stand up united as one Gather up and cheer for the Metal United We're the wild frontier, lights ignited, united Raise your glass Raise up your fist for those who built your fancy stage When blood, and sweat, and cheers unite They make your dreams come true We built our lives on hope for rock And nothing can take that away Gather up and cheer for the Metal United We're the wild frontier, lights ignited, united Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na Gather up and cheer for the Metal United We're the wild frontier, lights ignited, united Oh, oh, oh, oh, for Metal United Oh, oh, oh, oh, for Metal United Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na

How accepted is it to be a metalhead in japan? Do you get weird looks from people or even problems for being part of this subculture and listening to this music, or did i interpret to much into "last big outing"? ^^
@DarcNoodles3 жыл бұрын
@@cadettklinge6039 To clarify the last big outing was just a timing thing. I went to the last COB live in Helsinki. The next big one was supposed to be Knotfest in Tokyo the following spring but that was the spring of the first wave and so it got postponed indefinitely. I'm still holding on to my tickets waiting for them to set a new date. To answer the first part. In japan, all subcultures are seen with the same amount of acceptance and disdain. most people who listen to metal, on weekdays, are in their suits and ties and look like the herd so nobody knows. On weekends everyone has their own hobbies and so most metalheads are seen as peeps enjoying their hobbies. What you do outside company time is fine so long as you are a good cog in the machine. The peeps in the scene who live it however, Band members, club/bar owners/staff, the pillars of the subculture as it were, are generally also the ones who look the most 'metal' piercings, visible tattoos, make up. wild fashion etc... They get looks but if they made it to adulthood and chose to live that life, visibly, they have had a lifetime of constant bullying and ostracization. 'The bent nail shal be hammered flat' is an all too real occurence here but it's all psychological and it starts young. You need to hide your 'difference' behind a facade of fitting in (for all way off center subcultures, not just metal), or just own it so hard that you just can't get hammered down. Sadly far too many people can't do that and that's why suicide rates here are so damn high. Those who do make it through and can find work in their chosen world (or more often than not, create their own work) have no problem dealing with it. so they look back at the mainstream with the same disdain that is given to them. Personally, as a foreigner with permanent residence, have a very different set of cultural privelages and also face a different set of cultural discrimination Adding the fact that I am very 'visibally' part of the metal subculture, in a way complicates things cos I get acceptance where locals wouldnt and get discriminated against in different ways as a metalhead too. To go in depth about that would push this long comment even further into the abyss.. It could make for an interesting video topic on my channel at some point though. *hint hint*
