@@lovelypreet4511 nope bro, both are different. Ask any of your elders. Though the accent of both the regions is nearly same. My mother's side also migrated from Sheikhpura and I speak same as you. I consider the accent of bar better than majha accent. Though majhi is or was spoken in large numbers in bar as well. Accent is same in both the regions but the regions are considered different. Although, the topography of both the regions is almost same and majhail term is more used for people who come from Amritsar and Taran Tarn districts. And today new pakistani generation think that most of majha is in their Punjab. It's a misconception. Dialects of both could be considered as majhi but regions aren't.

Bar region include okara, pakpattan, dipalpur, sahiwal, haveli lakha and baserpur......while are situated south from lahore while sheikhupura is west from lahore and people of bar speak jaangli accent......That brother was right people of sheikhupura speak majhi accent......and who said that majha region was just around amritsar and taran tarn? Brother lahore was a major city of majha region and people from villages around lahore, sharaqpur, muridke and Narowal were called real majhail jo k bht larakay hundr si....... And for your kind info as you r saying majhi was only spoked in amritsar region there are further sub accents in majhi as i am from tehsil Shakargarh district Narowal(border of Gurdaspur, pathankot) , our region is called darhab and we have a really different and unique accent from others but collectively it is considered majhi.

@never again That's what I am saying. Majha is land between Ravi and Sutlej. Majority of it is in India and a little bit is in Pakistan. For instance, Villages east to lahore city and some area which borders gurdaspur district. But Pakistanis claim all the districts which u mentioned in Majha. Why so?

One more difference is Majha chawal Malwa chagal One major difference is that things like traffic, newspaper, magazine etc are called in feminine gender in Majha and masculine gender in Malwa. Traffic bahut ho gayi ae . And aj di akhbar nahin aayi , instead akhbar nahin aaya in Malwa 😊
