I've played a lot of TCGs. Started with Magic in the late 90s and have tried just about everything along the way. Flesh and Blood is one of the few games I've ever played that didn't feel like "Magic but . . ." Basically every other game is trying to "solve" perceived problems with Magic despite the things they are trying to fix are a huge reason why the game is so popular and has endured for forever. Flesh and Blood is doing it's own thing entirely and that's why it stands out so well and a huge reason why I was drawn in. I already play and love Magic, I don't want to play "Magic but", I want to play a different game.
@Nouxatar8 ай бұрын
Same here, love Magic, but also love that FaB is just a completely different game. Also love that there's a draft format, which is unfortunately not universal amongst TCGs. Unfortunately local support for it isn't great right now and also I don't have the most money to invest into the game so I'm stuck to just kitchen table play and Talishar.
@Sercotani7 ай бұрын
(Cardfight) Vanguard is quite different from Magic too, but sadly it's got a very small scene in the West :') being Asian though, there's plenty of enough players over here.
@anakisshunter7 ай бұрын
@@Sercotani great to finally see some Vanguard representation! It was such a jarring experience being an Asian kid and everyone of your classmates bringing a deck or two to school only to move to Canada where not a single soul in a 1000-mile radius has even heard of it. It's such a shame that MtG and Pokemon hold most of the Western TCG space, give some more attention to the little guys! You might like what you see :>

A bit of a correction about levia: Shadow runeblade cards tend to be playable from banish, shadow brute cards are usually very strong, above rate attacks, that have blood debt and require to banish random cards from your graveyard, so you slowly get a bigger pile of blood debt damage in your banish, making it super important to turn it off from levia's ability.
@brexcubo67668 ай бұрын
There are a couple cards that let you play things from exile, or can be played from exile, but it's not often and not enough to keep your blood debt low

When I started looking into FAB about a year ago, it seemed to me that the wizard/illusionist class was just going to win every time. It is like blue/white control vs red deck wins in MTG. If they get established passed turn 4 and have any life game, control wins. I haven’t played much except with some blitz precons but plan on getting further into it. This video is great. Thanks.

As someone who wants to dabble into FAB but is hard walled by the exorbitant pricing of staples, how should I go about when trying out this game? Of course, Talishar exists, but then if I keep only to Talishar, that means half of the Pros you said in the introduction wouldn't apply to me (Prizing, competitive events etc.) So as a new player guide: 1. What should be my priority when starting out in this game? 2. Do I invest into the staples immediately or try playing "budget" decks first, even if it means being slapped around in armories? 3. Which Heroes are relatively inexpensive but still be "competitive"?

No, Enigma’s shields applying Ward is a prevention effect but you’re still attacking her. A hit that doesn’t hit a hero would be like attacking an Ally. You can also attack Spectra auras but that won’t hit because of the way Spectra works

Hard disagree on Vynsett, when you consider how much you have to think every single action in order to even compete with other decks, how punishing any mistake can be on your overall damage output and how easily you can counter her just by pushing damages that makes it super hard to survive and have decent turns, I would say it is at least a 5 difficulty to begin, a 4 to master, and its power level is 2 at best, at least pre-Mistveil... Otherwise, love the video, pretty unbiased even though your love for Wizard is showing, and I think it's really cool for new players, I'll share it around

Arakni isn't easy to master. You have to have an understanding of every other hero in the game, their threats, what their plan is into you, and how to disrupt that. You can argue that everyone needs to know that, but it's most relevant in Arakni when you're given information about the top of your opponent's deck. Their ability is incredibly slept on, because it doesn't provide an apparent, quantifiable reward. It's something that rewards you next cycle, when you've set up for the threats you've bottomed, and it gives you the time to deal with the opponent before they can use those threats meaningfully. Arakni is also one of the best defensive decks in the game, not because they can block better than everyone else (although all their cards block 3), they function better on 1 card hands better than anyone else, which makes them great at blocking 9, sending 4.
@Nouxatar8 ай бұрын
Yeah, they're definitely a lot harder to master than this video would suggest. Keeping track of your opponent's pitch stack is critical to playing Arakni optimally, and that's Very Hard. I agree that Arakni can play a very rich and solid defensive game, certainly has some of the better 1-2 card hands out of the cast of heroes. That being said, until they get a significant amount of greater support, we're unlikely to see what Arakni mastery truly looks like, because, objectively, they just aren't worth mastering to that level at the moment due to how underpowered they are. Kinda sad, but that's the truth of the matter. tldr: I'd say with the video's rankings, I'd put Arakni at a 2/4/2/4/1

I'm also wondering if you could do an affordable class guide. What are the more affordable classes to get into with, warrior? Runeblade (not)? Or others? Love the vid!
@brexcubo67668 ай бұрын
Usually classes are divided between: high generics numbers (high cost, but usually on cards that are easily re-sellable or playable in other decks) or highly specialized (usually talented heroes play a bunch of cards that are only playable in their specific deck. A good example for that is vynnsett, which despite being a runeblade and full of majestic rarity cards, play close to 0 pricey generic cards, so the deck is on the lower end). A hero can be specialized in many ways, for example the 3 new mechanologists play very different cards, and few generics due to boost). There are exceptions to this rule (katsu plays a good number of generics but most of his equipments are super affordable, levia is very specialized but has like 6 legendaries in the deck + brute class card which right now cost a lot) Best budget classes/decks: Ninja (fai, katsu. Probably zen but we'll see) Mech (dash io, og dash, teklo and maxx) Vynnsett Boltyn There are probably other decks but these are the ones that came up to me rn
