Thanks for a fantastic lesson. Please tell us how to play so that the fretting hand fingers remain as close to the strings as possible.

You're welcome Nagesh! Hm.. that's not easy to answer in a comment, but you are giving me a good idea for a lesson :-)

Having an armonic background is important and certainly helps, but if you pay atention to the note in to wich your phrase land, the sense of major, rather than minor is there
@Effectivemusicpractice5 жыл бұрын
Hello.Thanks for watching 👍. You can certainly influence the sound by your choices for landing notes. But many times it's impossible to change the overall way the music sounds. Let's say for example, that you make it a point to land on a "C", as the root of C major, but the band is playing an A minor chord. You may feel that you are playing major, but the listener hears that you are landing on the 3rd degree of A minor, because the band (and especially the bass player) establishes the harmony. Hope this makes sense :-)

Just started playing a month ago. Using Guitar Licks website but getting bored already cause they are forcing reading music and theory. Very motivated to learn and I just don't know what path to take with your system. Is there a structured map to follow in order to build on each lesson? Grew up in Boston....Berklee is best music school. congrats

does it work for all scale shapes? or just the ones with the root note on the low e string?
@Effectivemusicpractice2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Yes, this works for every pentatonic shape. The minor root is always on the first finger on one of the strings (SF1) and the major root is always three frets higher on that same string fragment 👍.
