This is a tank season if they play Giddey with no defense. Caruso carried that team to some wins and now that he's gone, you will see it's a tank. I don't see Derozan staying on this team as a rebuild. He doesn't have time to waste and Caruso and Derozan were close.

Most his salary will be paid by the Bulls so it's a freebie for any team. no risk. Also, Zo never made $25 million a year. He started out with $19. This year it will be $21 million in the final year or this year.. In a buyout, the Bulls will write him off the books.

@@Tomhitsdingers The Bulls will give Giddy the keys to start and that seems to have been promised if you view the comment from the OKC Thunder ownership when they let him go. The Thunder said Giddy asked for a trade because he did not want to be a "rotational" player so the Bulls will put the ball in his hands. This is no longer even about Coby. Giddy will be a key piece of a rebuild which is why his contract extension can go as high as $225 million. He probably will not get that but don't be surprise if the offense is built around him as the key piece. Next up rumor Zach and Ayo to the Jazz for Clarkson and Collins.

@@BallGuy-pm8pz I guess he’s not that bad but for what we gave up for him and what we could’ve gotten is probably the worst part. Also bringing in a guy who can’t shoot the three while giving up a guy who could shoot a three is mind boggling. Also him getting the ball must mean he should be a playmaker cus as a shot creator he just doesn’t look confident at all. Btw Kenny Becham also put it out there that most players don’t really come to Chicago and play good. In a huge market like us it can be a lot of pressure which may affect him. This also means that Lonzo will be traded. I’m also afraid that getting the ball out of Coby’s hands might drop off his production as a player. That reason is also why I said if Giddey has the ball in his hands he needs to be a good playmaker, if he isn’t this might be the top 10 worst trade of all time. He can’t shoot, and doesn’t play defense.

Giddey is a primary ball handler and didn't fit in with the plans of the OKC unfortunately (3rd Season) in a different role compared to the first 2 seasons where he flourished with triple doubles!

I know Zo hopes the Bulls do a buyout because he can move on as well and pick the team he wants to play with. There will be a lot of teams vying for him in a buyout and I can guarantee that since it's no risk to try him out. The Bulls will be paying most of his salary. I know teams right now waiting for a buyout. They can get Zo for a discount. Who wouldn't want to try out a ball moving 26 year old?

I’m telling you as a Thunder fan, Giddey has a ton of potential. He just didn’t fit what OKC was building, especially with the emergence of J Dub. Pair that with a bunch of idiots calling him a pedo after picking up a girl in a club that lied about her age when he was NINETEEN! It’s no wonder he had an off season. Some of these fuckers forget that NBA players are people too and they can have mental health struggles.

The Bulls management are JUST good in trading not in training their players. Look at all the traded Bulls players to another team, they succeeded in another team and they even became part of championhip team or runner up team. Now when Lonzo Ball is ready to play, why do they want to trade him?.. My heart bleeds to see Alex Caruso traded if it is true..

they took Giddey just incase Ball is not the same. Personally I think they'll run it til the mid season trade line and decide whether theyll move on from Ball. Which is why they took Giddey so that if they do move on, Giddey will have some type of chemistry with team.

Giddy starts. With the length and skillsets, could be a 3 guard starting lineup. There is no value to trading Lonzo, but if he can play to the allstar break, he could bring great value. so, no trade. However, I don't think he can sustain his health. Still I hope.

Giddey can't not play the 3 too well since he can't guard but they may be able to hide him as a point forward with the ball in his hands. So you can start Coby as the PG but he's not really the point guard.

You do realize after the 1st surgery, the Bull said he would be back in 6 weeks. When he tried to increase movement, he had pain. So they had another surgery to "remover loose debris." He was still hurting and couldn't even walk up stairs. So they finally gave him a last option as the meniscus replacement which was performed a year ago. Only this January did they allow him to start working out since he had to wait for it to heal. So the reason he is only 70% a few months ago, related to he just started the real rehab after the surgery. So now it's 5 months later and he's dunking. It's a process to rehab after healing. He couldn't go into exercising the knee before it healed. That goes for any injury. Jamal Murray was out after his surgery for some time and Klay Thomas too. Zo had 3 surgeries before they identified the issue.

Zo can't be traded because of his injury but a buyout is a lower risk. The Spurs are the only one who can jump and trade for him since they have cap space. But a buyout is more likely and he will get to pick the team and I hear many teams are calling. He will not have a problem if he comes back. Bucks, Spurs, Lakers, Clippers, Denver, Warriors are all on standby waiting for the buyout. OKC may also be on standby. 🤣

That's a tank team. Bulls aren't even thinking about anyone but Giddey in this trade as a rebuild. You will see. They are trying to keep that 10 from the Spurs for next year for a chance at Cooper. That's the reason they got rid of Caruso. His defense creates wins. Giddey has absolutely no defense. So imagine the outcome.

@@fixindan3592 In a buyout, no team has to give up anything. Zo only has 1 year left on his contract, not 3 like Lavine. So if they take a chance on him for 1 year, teams that have that chance can do it unless they are an Apron team. An Apron team who is over the cap can't get him in a buyout which may exclude the Lakers. Zo gets to pick the team in a buyout and I heard the Spurs are interested. I can see the Bucks, Denver, Lakers, Clippers, and Warriors could check Zo out. Of course, he has to prove he can play but that's a low risk proposition for most teams in a buyout. The Spurs could avoid all of this by trading for him in his last year and that avoids them going through a "buyout" competition.

In a buyout, there is no trade. It's basically the team paying the salary to remove him off the Book. I heard teams are salivating off the opportunity to check out Zo and even the Spurs are on watch. There is no risk at trying out a player on an expiring contract. Only Apron teams are limited.

They can't trade him because no team will take him in a trade with his injury history. They will in a buyout. Although 1 team has cap space to accommodate Zo in a trade and that's the Spurs.
