Hi Justin, I’m an airplane mechanic. V-band clamps have frequently been deadly on airplanes. The current procedure is first of all make sure the clamp and exhaust surface are clean ( scotchbrite). Then tighten bit by bit as you tap all around the clamp with a hammer until you reach the final torque which should be etched on the clamp.

Mr J,, take those spot mirrors off fld that are mounted on the fenders/hood & take the access fender brackets off & put them on top of retangle mirrors on W9 & U will able 2 see the top off stacks & the top front of the dry van while driving from inside the cab!!!!!!

I just realized too, that exhaust is missing a few um...things 😅😅. I think the W9 deserves some new pipes from SHTube, when you get blessed with some more loads of course lol

Hiya Justin that rattle you mentioned in your last video is from the heat shield being cracked around the bolt heads from metal fatigue and the heat. If you look at the mounting bolt heads you can see the cracks in the shield. You could have the cracks welded and smoothed then have it chromed again, but imagine would be better route to just get replacements as sure other side is about in the same shape. Thanks for sharing and showing us what all is involved in being an independent trucker and having such a great attitude no matter the situation.

Exhaust leaks are automatic out of service if you get inspected so you were lucky to catch it before they did, also that looked like stainless steel flex steel pipe it is more expensive but it will last longer. I live in the midwest so it was all we used because of salt and rust. If you have an air compresser an air hammer with the correct bit it will take that flex pipe off in seconds I have an old snap on hammer and that thing is wicked.

Awesome video Justin while you were getting in the trailer fixed and the airbag done you were fixing the exhaust. You did an awesome job Travis giving you flexible pipe for your exhaust system and you fix it watching Cayson and Kylie hanging out with you why the two tires were getting fixed then going home hanging out with your sons now you’re going to a concert with T dubs tonight you’ll have a wonderful time with your wife. Pretty truck! Love that color. If that GMC has one of those 8 speed transmissions, look out. My brother works for GM. He works on the robots. His personal truck has just over 20,000 miles and the transmission went out. It’s been sitting at the dealer for a month. Can’t get a new transmission for the truck. Dealer is going to have to rebuild it. Even the factory can only run production, until their supply of transmissions runs out. Justin, I thought of you, when he told me the following: the body shop manager has a brand new Escalade with a corvette engine. GM gave it to the Manager to test. They told him to put it thru its’ paces and see what happens.

Justin, the Best concert I went to was in San Antonio at the Freeman Coliseum mid 2000s. It was Montley Crew, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Disturbed, Flyleaf, Seether and Staind; it was an All day venue and thank the Lord the temperatures stayed in the mid-high 70s. I still have the tickets, and T-shirts (seen All those bands multiple times too) Great times!!! Glad all the repairs are done, that small crack fixed too. Fingers 🤞 Cash gets his prize or whatever it is Lol🤣. Tiki and Casper seem like BFFs 😂. You definitely had alot going on today 😅. Before you showed that broken exhaust bracket,I was wondering if the system was too rigid and that's why the flex pipe has failed ? Maybe check how much movement is happening with the engine mounts !

If you put on stainless steel flex pipe it will last a lot longer. I always use a cutoff disk on my 4" angle grinder. You just have to take it slow you can cut it right off. And there is a right way to put the flexible pipe on. It will let the exhaust leak if you put it on backwards.

I find the stainless lasts 2 to 3 times longer and is only slightly more.

Lube the flex up and rotate it off in the direction that would make the diameter bigger. Works 20% of the time, every time. When that doesn't work, grinder and a cutoff wheel and 15 seconds.

Some of our Freightliner dealerships sell 5th wheel grease in a spray can which is alot cleaner than most methods and very convenient. I'm sure other places have them but I got mine at the Freightliner place. FYI Works great.

Do you have a automatic fifth wheel release on your KW? I noticed your handle has the extra bar attached to it that the Cascadia I drove for a couple years had. It was equipped with a automatic release. You could either push the button on the dash OR get out and pull the lever. Sometimes? I had to do it old school because of grit in the latch and the button didn't work.

By 2024 you will have a brand new rebuilt truck, which is real good for you because you are in tune with your truck and saving money by doing what you can do yourself even the hard stuff. I drove a 5 TON Dump Truck in the ARMY before sit still A/C or Automatic Trannies, when we got the new HUMMV everything went down hill but that's just my 2 cents.

That's why our Kenworth is getting worked on. Mechanics are going to be working on it later this week so is Jesse when we get back from Louisiana. I was happy seeing Jesse and my grandma and Daisy. Mr's Daisy is still riding with us. There asleep in tue bottom bed. And Jesse will be asleep in the top bed. And I will be driving to our destination. Daisy (our neighbor and a good friend) was like sad that we was leaving. We waited for her to get out of the medical clinic and she was like huh thought u was heading out. Jesse was like get in of u wanna go with us to Louisiana and sue quickly got in. Her daughter was happy Jesse got her to her appointment early. We slept in the parking spot and left the the trailer at the company that we had to deliver to. Jesse just said that he loves having Mr's Daisy riding with him. Even if he does local loads somebody to talk to. He usly takes grandma if she's not watching the grandkids oldest daughter's kid's. A very very good friend of ours opened up a daycare and the grandkids loves it there. Jesse is going to stop at McDonald's before they close the lobby and get something to eat and get his large chocolate shake.

Oh ans by the way with the Vband, use a rachet or hand tools to tighten up nut. Personal experience from race car use, you hit them with an impact gun tightening them up, its likely to strip the nut. If it has to come off itll seize and snap again.

Tire wear? Maybe the axle is bent. Does anyone do tire alignment on trailers? I would think that if you scribed a line on the two outer tires by spinning the tire around, you could measure distance in the front compared to the back from right side to left side and then measure the bottom across the trailer from right side to left side. Just a thought.

Addendum to my comment: the nut on the clamp must have the self locking feature still working. You should not be able to get the nut beyond the first threads by finger.

You gotta have a flex somewhere. Otherwise everything will find a point to move and vibrate and you will bust the clamps or crack the welds on the flanges.

Try selling all your power units. Buy a new unit with zero miles. Run it for 300k miles and enjoy your time off (probably the next 3 years) with the family. Then sell it at auction. Then go get you a new power unit again. Your family time should be highest value. Take my advice and you will see the profit gains. #fear.is.a.disease

The problem with new trucks is the emissions garbage. One fault will derate the truck and put you in the shop for a month or more while parts are backordered. I'd rather run an emissions free truck that's paid off any day. Same goes for my personal cars.

We have those emergency trucks in Iowa for those who break down trucks cars whatever doesn't matter they're hired this. State and they go and pick up people and I'll take him to a truck stop or the nearest location to where they can get help, but it's only on u.s. interstates nowhere else other US Highways they're not they're they're only on the interstates to help people on the interstates either dot enforcement Enforcement will call them to send them to their location or Iowa State Patrol the weird thing is being said we have to State Patrol venue's the Iowa DOT enforcement they are above the state patrol I did not know that I learned that a couple summers ago also the. Is above any law enforcement police and the sheriff
