Major FlyByWire Update to the FlyPad (EFB) | A32NX MSFS 2020

**EDIT - Navigraph integration is working. If you have previously used Navigraph charts on the older FlyPad (EFB), you will no longer be asked for re-authentication - just type in your ICAO code & go 👍 **
FlyByWire have overhauled their FlyPad (EFB) in the A32NX for MSFS 2020 updating the operating system to OS3. This version is still in testing and so not all features are functioning, however, it is a wonderful update the new new look is much improved and nicely laid out with the promise of some fantastic new features to be added soon.

Some mistakes: Dynamic Registration Decal: This setting actually affects the aircraft registration on the exterior, not the cockpit. Some liveries come with their custom registration so if you turn this off, the default MSFS registration decal won't be visible. Use Calculated ILS Signals: Some default airports in MSFS don't transmit the ILS signal properly so turning this on should fix them.

It might come back, but it definitely won't be on the front page - it's a space hog more than anything, as the map on the main page is just that, a map, with insufficient space to add additional functionality. Clearing the other half allows us to add the quick access shelf and make it more of a power-user-type UI with easier access to pertinent info, and we strongly believe the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. You might want to read up on information density and why more of it is good.

I'd really like to see a realistic weight and balance page like the pilots use. The Aerosoft CRJ one is quite good. The SB passenger count can be loaded into the MCDU and now divided into zones which is nice. But calculating it with the graph on the EFB would be the cherry on top so to say. But overall this is my favorite EFB so far in the sim. Really incredible.

Hello! Just wanted to chime in to say that the Local Files page is fully operational but currently the necessary server that the page depends on is not yet shipped with the plane. When it is, it will be plug and play : ). It seems like the Navigraph page worked just fine, just put in an ICAO code to see charts. For the lighting presets page, it didn't work because the aircraft was not yet powered up which is mentioned in the help tab (the one with a question mark)

bruh i think we call all agree FBW dont fucking MISSS they're hands down the best team I've seen and to think this plane is free while also making the A380???? BUILT DIFFERENT, they deserve all the love as they set the industry standard for how mods and planes should be done. Navigraph integration is absolutely cool. (Dont like the clunky design of navigraph charts) Wish they would give the flypad a slightly larger screen though.

I tried out the experimental model on a Rnav app into EGLL into 9L .The baro bug I encountered as per your video when setting standard pressure .I had autopilot disconnect and auto throttle disconnect .I found I had to activate the approach early or the aircraft would accelerate busting speed restrictions.When I activated app mode the aircraft did not capture ,had to hand fly the final . I did follow your tutorial but with disappointing results ..

I flew a couple of hours ago and managed to get Navigraph set up. Don't remember how I did it though lol Something else I noticed...and to be honest maybe it was there the whole time and I just didn't see it before...but the Flypad itself loses battery power. You can actually see it in this video. Then when you power up the plane the Flypad starts to charge back to 100%. I'm actually tempted to see what will happen if I stay cold and dark but have the Flypad on, if it will drain to zero and switch off.

Why don't you use the full camera mode for the EFB and MCDU. Every time you do a tutorial you always use basic camera angles and not utilise the full screen option.

The easiest way to use the Navigraph charts is to click on FROM (Origination), TO (Destination), or ALT (Alternate, if you have one). You can also pin them, so I have been pinning the airport diagrams, the SID, STAR, and Approach to make it easy. Your Navigraph ID is sticky now, too, so you don't have to login every damn time you restart the sim. Yay!!

I’m not sure just yet… but since updating to this experimental version I’m getting random ctd with no help by going into Event Viewer.. Sim just does a very small stutter then I get ctd… Tried it with the std asobo A32nx and all good .. no ctd… will experiment with the Dev version tonight. Anyone else have ctd since update? Because the amount of variables (wind, runway length, temperature, TOW, CoG, QNH etc) make it an enormous task to compute everything. We do have SimSmart coming out this week, which is a take off performance calculator for the A320 Neo. This has been compared eith irl data and does an excellent job of replicating the real world software for use in the sim.

I don't think I will ever use the presets. If your not performing these actions as a sim pilot then what is the point?, you have become a sim passenger. Why not just have a button to perform the flight for you. 🤣

But if you were simulating a trasit flight, the aircraft wouldn't be cold and dark, so this is a great way to jump to that state. Otherwise, you're doing a cold and dark setup everytime.

Yes, I had a brain dead moment. I too was searching for a QR code - however unknown to me, I was already logged in from the previous version of the FBW aircraft. The new OS3 remembered so didn't require re-authentication. Well done FBW 👍
