Thank you so much for this channel. It has been my go-to since this thing was called Invest 98. My family is fairly new to Florida and this is our first Hurricane experience. You make the information clear and understandable, while being one-stop for all the latest. Can’t thank you enough. Stay safe.

Pensacola has huge Surge issues. Most people died from the surge flooding from Ivan, and even Sally was pretty scary with surge even up into our rivers. Ivan and Sally were also painfully slow movers. If you are in an evacuation zone, you need to evacuate to somewhere safer. Be safe everyone!

Lake Manatee east of Bradenton could be a potential problem with extremely heavy rainfall. A few years back during a big storm the floodgates stuck closed and they were afraid the dam was going to be breached. Families living in the new housing developments east of town - if you're smart you'll be paying attention to the damn levels. Get it? Seriously though, I drove out there while it was happening and walked out on the dam. Scary stuff seeing the water right at the top and workers frantically trying to free the gates.

People who have never lived here keep wishing prayers and act like we arent prepared for this. Stop filling your minds with garbage that doesnt even apply to you and better yourself. All local channels dont even make a fuss before landfall unless it is urgent. Board the windows, get back up generators to get us through the week and finally use up the stockpile of food before it expires which only makes that buy worthwhile lol. I pray for everyone outside of the tampa area and suggest you come visit next hurricane season so you can ease your minds a bit

Weeki wachee here. See this causing major flooding west of us19. My house is flood prone with this high tide, more than 20knts of west wind and I'm flooded. Every ft of storm surge is a ft of water in my living room. Hate to say it but I think this will take a while to recover from. I pray for everyone.
