I don’t Idalia was a cat 3 hurricane it looks more like a strong Cat 2 probably 100-110 sustained winds and 120 wind gusts

I've set aside $3000 to go chasing the summer.. I'm up here in VA, and we never really get storms of note, other than a supercell or 2 all year. I have 2 weeks paid vacation to play with. Hoping for 2 chase worthy storms. Ofcourse I preferably would like to have no hurricanes make landfall as I don't like what people have to go thru with possible injuries or worse. But since we can't dictate mother nature, I want to see the show. I was in Nags Head NC in 2003 during hurricane Isabel. Had 109mph gust about 4 miles from my location. I was only 18 then and my mind wasn't really in the right place to fully take in the experience of a storm like that. Something about the sound of numerous F15 fighter jets, roaring over a forested area, really gets my adrenaline going.. Hoping 2024 is a safe and productive year for everyone. Please don't buy into the division, MSM rhetoric or China begging everyone to believe climate change is going to wipe us all out. The CCP literally pays our media companies to push scary climate change rhetoric. The entire climate narrative is so China can sell more lithium and cobalt, while taking profits from other nations who sell oil and natural gas. As we know it's an election year, thus the hate will unfortunately rise and the protests will expand for prepaid and planned reasons. We are Americans and we sure as hell haven't acted like it lately. I think we can overcome and unite. If not, well America is in some serious trouble.
