It is a pit that there are not recognised icons for words like products, about, documentation and so on! Tapping on a menu is difficult for older people as well as those handicapped by physical dexterity issues. You are a great Champion for those who are not as able as the Elementor young devs seem to be.
@daveden26 ай бұрын
Yeah, there might be some icons for those if we do a deep search. Thank you! Please always feel free to share any tips or experiences to help us make the web more accessible for all.

📢 Correction: JAWS + Chrome is the most popular screen reader/browser combo. NVDA + Chrome is strong too. For mobile, VoiceOver + Safari leads. See the stats: webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey10/?fbclid=IwAR3RER5Qpc-UtYwI81PbXOL3pIwkD7dSpBj7lhx5Em61aeII_Q4cdcfstXE#browsercombos

How about for SEO, is it good for SEO the mega menu of Elementor, what do you think? Great content again, thank you!
@daveden26 ай бұрын
I feel it should be okay for search engines since screen readers can also understand the content. However, for a better user experience and clearer SEO signals, Elementor could place the submenu content directly after the toggle button in the HTML.

I like the idea of the Mega menu, but... problem with elementor is that your builder get so freaking slow..when we add elements like these. Its like a train out of the 1900. Looking at Flatsome and other builders with the option its way way faster! I just hope that the developer take a bit more and more time to optimize and make it better in stead of rush it right lol...
@daveden26 ай бұрын
Agreed! I'm not sure why the builder gets so slow when we use any of the nested elements.

Dave is mega menu stable? Is it ready to create megamenus for production and mobile ? thanks a lot
@daveden26 ай бұрын
Yes. Although it is currently in Beta, a lot of people are already using it. It's a bit limited with mobile menus currently (no offcanvas or full screen menu). Hopefully, those features would be on the roadmap. Although, one thing I've noticed is that the Elementor editor can sometimes get really slow when adding lots of content to the menu.

@@daveden2 Im a bit lost in which is the correct way to create mobile menus in elementor, most tutorials use popups which are not good
@daveden26 ай бұрын
@zafit02 Yeah, I mostly do simple mobile menus. But those may not be great for WooCommerce experience. Elementor's Menu Widget isn't bad. I'm currently researching the best way to create mobile menus. I heard about Max Mega Menu and a few others. But I haven't tested them yet.

@@zafit02 If you want a free and SEO-friendly fullscreen menu you can use Unlimited Elements. They offer that for free. It's not perfect but you can even modify it quite a bit because they offer an option to extend it by loading in additional sections (whatever you want) using their template function.

how many people wpuld effect this ? Less then 1 % or more ?

Sorry, which aspect are you referring to? There are a lot of people who prefer to use keyboard-only. And I know quite a few people who also rely on screen readers.

@@fatjay9402 There's a few statistics about it on webaim for example. In the USA there's an estimated 1.38% that are using screen readers.
