Good fun and entertaining. It also demonstrates the levels in table tennis and that you can only win with the necessary skillset and athleticism. Luck isn't going to get you far against a superior player!

The question I always ask myself with Bobrow is - if he were to stop clowning around and start training seriously - what level could he reach?
@FED0RA9 ай бұрын
i think he pretty much quit competitively so he does these videos you should just probably check his old rankings when he was still active and go from there

He is a decent player. But I am always sceptical of his actual game. I don’t consider him to be good. But he has found his niche in being entertaining for sure. And some of the shots he makes are definitely very hard to do

@@VladTableTennis I ask because he came to Argentina and the Federation put him in a first-class tournament because he was him. From what I could see he should have been - at most - in third category above, or second category well below. But he clowned around too much. I don't know if at his age - even if he proposed it and started training seriously - he can give up those vices. Thanks for the reply. Greetings.

What's actually funny about that is that, if he were to change his game and play more 'seriously', then his level would be about the same, if not a little bit lower than what you see here. There are a few reasons for that too: 1. The way he plays now forces players to have to play shots and scenarios that they don't practice as much, like repeatedly playing smashes against QUALITY lobs. 2. Adam would miss a lot more shots than he currently does (unforced errors), if he were to play the typical attacking style. 3. His opponents would be able to read him more and anticipate virtually everything he would do, which would allow his opponents to get into a groove, whereas right now, he makes it so you can't get into a groove since you aren't sure what he's going to do. 4. Anyone who is good enough to counter back his best attacks, or even just get back his best attacks with average blocks would dominate him, as Adam would struggle mightily to maintain attacks versus decent blocks and especially good counters. Adam would either struggle to recover, which would make him miss his next shot, or play something weak, or if he was able to recover and continue to attack, then he would certainly end up playing the ball to where his opponent could get an early read on it and then steal the attack from him, which he probably wouldn't be able to deal with. 5. Adam would have to change his racket setup entirely and that would take him 2-3 months to get used to. And even once he did get used to it, it would make it so that he would no longer be able to lob as well as he does now, whenever the situation calls for it. So therefore, it would diminish something he is currently good at and being able to get those lobs back over and over is far more useful of a skill than people think, even if you're an attacking player.
