Little tip for ya when you’re putting in the 12mm bolt. Hand tighten it first; you’ll find it much more difficult to cross thread it when it’s hand tightened first. Then you can use the drill gun to tighten it.

I saw on perrins website they had to cut 16 small pieces of plastic where the intercooler sits. Did you guys not need to do this step?

Would like to add for those who asked - I did NOT trim those 16 fins as the instructions described. It was a bit tougher to install, but it lines up perfectly fine with some pushing. Had a friend push down on the top of the IC while I aligned the last bolt on the right side.

Do you need a tune to run the new aftermarket Inter cooler or is it just plug and play with the oem factory tune

BLACK-6-SNAKE '-' no tune is needed but with a tune you will maximize your setup more vs running a stock IC due to the smaller size of it and heatsoak.

Hey I own a 2019 CTR and I was wondering how you were able to get the BOV to sound like that? Did you install a new one?

It's most likely coming from an aftermarket air intake. When I replaced the stock one with a Mishimoto intake, those BOV sounds became very noticeable. One of the many benefits of upgrading the intake and it is SO fun hearing those noises when shifting gears :)

@@PiRaTeKiNg3 I'm honestly not sure. Mine is a 2017 so I've had it over 2 years now and only just put in the new intake about 6 months ago. You could always take it back off if you need to. There's nothing in the install that isn't reversible. There's no trace of any modification

Might be a diverter valve in the intake. Would make more of a "swoosh" noise than the classic bov chirp. Definitely sounds better when its diverted through the intake.

The Type R has a small turbo,this intercooler is too big, you gonna create a turbo lag and you block the air passage to the radiator , and as you probably already know, this car has a famous issue it overheating.

That intercooler should've included new plastic flaps at both sides of the intercooler to help channel tje air directly to the intercooler and not around it...

I have one and let me just say this car defies everything you know about fwd when the weather is good. It really is freaky. Power on turning sucks you in and it puts the power down in straights amazing with no pulling u left to right. If it's raining it's pretty useless at putting the power down thou lmao I went from a 300 whp supercharger si to the type r and honestly the first time I drove it hard I completely forgot it was fwd that's how good it's fwd setup is
