I agree fully, it would be great if we had a raid frequency option for the people who like fighting and defending their base more. As well as an option to allow up to 10-15 maybe even 20 or more enemies in one large group after a certain interval. To be honest it may start to get boring if you make a good defence after some time and then you barely get attacked because you killed the last raid so easily. Then the next raid will come and probably get smoked etc. So we need an option to have larger/smaller numbers of enemies attacking, especially in multiplayer.

Edit: by the way, the electric fences - you can now place extra sticks on top of the already placed sticks, making it taller. Maybe that helps. We managed to make skull lanterns with sticks recently, they get very tall! I am SO happy armsy is back, he was the creepiest of all mutants to me in the forest, just hearing him made my skin crawl. I was missing some fast and giant enemies like virgi or armsy from the first forest, the new enemies are not super scary (unless in a cave, not on the surface). What I also miss from the first forest is creepies doing base raids :( I make all those defenses and all i get is some random Andys and a few titans. I want more!! :D Ty for the video and information!!

Don't know if you know about this. But if you have last arrow shoot it into the floor. Pick it up. Go to the shelf put 1 arrow down. but you still have 1 arrow in the bow. So shoot again, pick it up. put 1 down. Infinite ammo glitch. I think you must have only 1 arrow left. Probably works with crossbow too.

i was messing around with that trap and they work the best when placed horizontally next to the defensive wall. that way it never misses and hit the target multiple times

Can confirm that at least Virginia will swim. It just so happened a day or so before the patch she had gotten stuck in the water near a dock in my current build. I believe this happens when you have a planter on the edge of your structure. I never saw it happen but she would end up under the doc and just walk around like she was not in water. With the patch she still ended up in the water but she swims now (squid like) and will occasionally attempt to get out of the water.

Is it me or has Kelvin got ultra-moody to the point of being almost entirely uncooperative, especially during winter. "Hey Kelvin, mind filling the holder with sticks?" Nine times out of 10 I get a fierce head shake, even if there are both sticks and holders within a reasonable radius. If you keep bugging him about it, he will slouch off, eat some berries and after an hour or two, return with two sticks. I reached my boiling point after two winters of this, and have since taken to beating him with the shock baton every time he shakes his head. Even Virginia got stuck in, kicking him like he was a goddamn squirrel. Things have all gone a bit Lord of the Flies on my island. Best update so far.

Just thought that this might be a genius idea for traps: Have a rock/trigger placement we can freeform place anywhere a certain distance away from a trap. E.g with hokey pokey we can adjust the trigger to be further away to the left or right to increase delay etc.

I think the swimming thing is probably for others who had the same issue I did, Kelvin was out on the pond when winter ended, so the ice melted and he fell in, dying with no way for me to save him...

I have a build on a little island and I have a bridge over the water (build it on ice with logs). When winter passed and the ice melted I saw virginia swimming to shore so that must be what they meant by the AI swimming. Probably it's not meant for them to follow you by swimming after you unfortunately

there should be a golf cart and one of those utility side by side things where it's a golf cart with a bed you can put sticks and stones in at lest. especially with stone building now, you could just drive around and fill up like a propper construction worker

Why does people always say skål when refering to norway. I know that in english it's meant to be translated to cheers but we only really use skål when we're at the dinner table and want to clink your glasses together to i guess cheer the dinner. I can't confirm it but I believe a moose will trigger the hokey pokey trap, I heard one die and saw the body under the trap. So either it triggered the trap or a cannibal did and it ran off before I could see it.

The update is a good step but they didn't sort out the enemy situation though. I stopped playing because after day 120 there's no enemies (Besides an occasional raid). The game implies to you to build these awesome, impenetrable fortresses and there's plenty of action doing so but once its all done.... well that's it, everybody is dead and there's nothing left to do but deal with a raid here and there. I have no clue how you have so many enemies in your games and I really am so so jealous. The correct way to solve the enemy quantity problem is by having a option for enemy quantities when you start a custom game. Just like how there is an option for animal amounts. None of this, more enemies you kill the less there are, that's already in place. When you kill the locals, they don't come back ever. Raids are cool and all but they are too easy to beat with a M-bow and M-axe. Plus, the new enemy numbers concept only benefits the players that play every once in a while, I occasionally play now and I still get bored after an hour as there's not much to do once you've achieved everything in-game. There's not enough content to explain the lack of action. Starting a new game would help but it doesn't fix the issue that the further you get in the game, the more barren it gets. Hot take but it is what it is 🥲

No you’re right. Once you get a good defence the amount of enemies that attack you is piss poor and it’s easy. These two sliders need to be a thing: - Enemy raid frequency - Number of enemies in a raid (min/max slider)

It’s piss easy right now if you have a good defence. A raid never has more than 6 enemies which aren’t very hard to deal with. A raid frequency option would be a good addition as well as a raiding party size range (like you could set a min/max number of enemies in a raid, like 2-10 or 10-15 if you wanted)

For me they should add at least a bit more mutant or cannibal types maybe a cannibal that throws a spear and add more things in the ocean and and lakes maybe some shipwreck or theres a gps and its in a submarine, crocs in lakes and a bear in the forest, more enemy camps and maybe make cannibals roam more like gathering resources, add more to story and more blueprints

When you spawn a mutant, if you put CreepyVirginia you can spawn the original Virginia. She's IN the code.

Not sure if i agree about the reduced attacks. The attacks earlier in the game can be annoying at times but all the games i've played (800hours+) when the base is done and i've gotten all the game content the only thing left is defending your base from attacks and i find they are not enough. It would be nice if they added some game mechanic like a shrine or something that is sacred to the cannibals that i could desecrate or destroy that would really piss off the cannibals for say 1 year in game. That would be a cool and make the game more fun at endgame.

What i dislike about that is being aggressive = less raid, in the first opus it was the opposite, if you're aggressive cannibal will hate you and attack more and on the other side you can be friendly with cannibal but at the cost of many bones (so less armor in case there is a mutant)

My base is situated on a lake and kelvin and virginia would always pathfinder their way into the water and would start walking on the lake floor. Can’t interact with the when they are down there so Kelvin has saved himself a lot of “clear 20 metres” by simply drowning himself and hiding from my notepad 😂. Had its benefits because he was safe from enemies because they would also pathfind their way into the water and die. But adding that they will now swim is kind of pointless because he won’t follow me out of the water, he’ll just tread water and watch me do his work instead of being 10 metres below

(FIXED) Rebar was disabled, im getting around %20-%30 more FPS and my CPU usage is around %70, GPU usage is around %75-%80 :) My cpu usage and gpu usage are both around 50 percent and my fps is around 50-80fps on 1080p Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues. I’m running a ryzen 5 3600 x 4060ti On high settings Not running out of vram Not thermal throttling Drivers are up to date Ram is 80-90 percent It’s on an nvme ssd

For the time being, SOTF is worse than its predecessor. The loneliness, the unawareness of where you are until you find a piece of paper so that you can design a map of the areas you explore, the cannibals being faster than you and able to hit you even if you run, the rafts that provided a shelter able to build on, away from all dangers of the island, a special endgame super mutant. In SOTF you literally land on the island with a gps that shows EVERYTHING on the island. All of the map already revealed and all the locations of the caves. No thanks. I'd rather find them on my own, ENDNIGHT. I don't need help.

Since launch of Sons of the Forest my new pc, i9 13900k, rtx 4090, 1T m.2 ssd, can NOT get over 35 fps no matter what( with drops into about 26 FPS ). Playing on a LG C2. Tress and other things look grainy and i just give up on this game with hope the devs will fix it. I loved the first game but this new one just runs so poorly.
