You can get $332.50 trade credit plus $25 off of $250+ purchase at gamestop for a PS5. $357.50 is not too bad if you wanted to upgrade to a PS5 Pro or something else. It is more than you would clear through ebay or selling it in person currently. New PS5 consoles are selling for $449.99 right now, so Getting $357.50 is a hell of a great deal right now.

Don't forget about Ebay's notorious fees. You need to account for that, along with no disc drive and stand. The slight upgrade isn't worth it.

Surprisingly eBay recently removed selling fees for private sellers (changed their terms of business, not just an offer). I received an email from eBay and it was reported on other news sites. Haven’t tested it yet, but I think PayPal fees and postage will be all that’s left to be paid by the seller (eBay own PayPal IIRC so they still get money).

There is a risk of market saturation (most with a PS5 doing the same as you)... If that happens the value will plummet as too many will be up for sale at the same time leading to greater losses on selling and even stores like CEX refusing to take in any more as over stocked. I sold mine today and have the money in the bank as I write this.

I don't think I will sell my original ps5. I have it in my room but thinking about putting it in the lounge. That way I can play games like tekken8 or any co-op games w my family or friends. I'm also a person who collects physical media so it will also be a good 4k blu ray player~

CEX have just slightly increased their prices on the OG PS5 also, Ebay no longer charge fees... I recently sold a drone for over a grand and kept every penny!

We are 4 years into the PS5 generation and a new PS5 Slim digital (no extra controller, no stand) still sells for around 400/450 euro's retail price ... was expecting something like 300 euro's by now, but the prices are not going down. Infact they are going the other way ... up.

I’ve held on to my ps4 pro for this moment. By grace ps5 doesn’t have very many games so I haven’t missed out on much. Going from ps4 pro to ps5 pro has been worth the wait 😎

U can literally keep your disc drive grab a digital cover for you ps5 and trade it in or sell it as a digital. Then buy a ps5 pro disc plate cover.

I'm debating because I play COD & FIFA 25 BUT I also have wifi7 with my Orbi Router & I have 10GB Fiber Internet at home as well so I think, that getting a PS5 Pro will make sense to me since they say it supports Wifi7, I might get better speeds on the PS5 Pro than on the regular PS5. Am I crazy for having thoughts of selling my beast Pc? I know it’s way more powerful than the PS5 pro. But I’ve noticed the games I play now are PC exclusives. It’s annoying having to wait 1-2 years for them to release on PC. I still haven’t played SM2😢

Maybe try and get a cheap used PS5 with a disc drive when people start selling theirs after the Pro releases or after Christmas. Then if you stick to disc copies you can always sell up if you decide to later on. Personally I’d keep the PC as it sounds like you put a lot into it and long term it could be useful. I guess you might lose out on a way to play your PC library. I built a beast PC in 2009 which I still have running Ubuntu, it was getting a bit bogged down with Windows 10 but Linux is running great on it for general use and emulation.

Managed to sell my OG PS5 Disc Edition for £330 on Gumtree, got a PS5 Pro, 2 year extended warranty, disc drive and a stand for £815 altogether paid over 24 months without any interest, so thats only £415 to pay in 2 years for the Pro. Bargain! Bring on November 🔥
