In the Leviathan Book, it killed 20+ Ultramarines from 1st company including 6 named characters almost killing 7 but 7th was rescued via dues ex machina of an apothecary biologos. Eventually was killed when tackled down a thermal mine shaft. Well assumed to be killed if it didn't die from that, then the destruction of the planet did the job. It was programmed to think like the lieutenants and other officers and countered them hard.

@@Korsav0 it's been at least a decade since the last new Tyranid model, so I don't think it's that bad. Ghasghzkul is well on his way to becoming Primarch level, seeing as his head was recently stitched onto an even bigger Ork body. So long as only the leader units are the ones experiencing power creep, it shouldn't be too bad so long as some random fucking author doesn't turn it into the next Avatar of Khaine and turn it into a joke.

​@@starhammer5247 Ghazghkull makes sense as he was written and built up to grow stronger over the course of decades of writing mixing both serious and fun context behind his story. A Tyrannid type that overshadows Carnifexes and Swarmlords combined and has the capabilities of killing entire squadrons of Custodes on the other hand is another matter. It's not the case of a character being progressively stronger or progressively built up to something grand like Ghazghkull. It's something more abrupt just like the story of the beast with their "Primarch Orks" showing up damn near out of nowhere and introducing a new enemy type meant to act as an equal in power to already powerful characters like Vulkan. Also this is GW, who have been known to introduce Harlequins that 1 shot Custodes and 20 Primarch Orks that popped outta nowhere and so many people prefer to forget those ever even happened so it's very doubtful GW will handle future powerscaling well.

Okay, anything that EASILY turns more than one Custodes into a chalk outline, is a fucking problem. One of these factions really needs to figure out some kind of biological weapon for damaging the Hivefleet's ability to pull this kind of shit. Or just steal it from the sleeping robo gods. They must have some lethal bug spray laying around. On the plus side, when orks start engaging with these monsters, that's going to cause them to evolve in their own way, which is about the only active threat to the Tyranids right now, since the Nekrons are literally asleep at the fucking wheel. Waking up the Necrons so they can do something significant in the setting would require the Space Marines not being the main character and the only important part of 40k in GW's eyes. Xenos are never allowed to be the main characters in any way.

@@norsehorse84 I don't know about that, given that the reason Commissar Yarrick is remembered, is because of his dealings with orks. Orks are very popular, that clearly has influence over the " rules", or every book would literally be Space Marines humiliating xenos at every turn, and the rules for the game would always be crippling the xeno players, instead of just being kind of random in that respect. Besides, just because the space robos get into the fight, doesn't mean the path to victory, is carved entirely by them. It's likely to be three factions converging on the Tyranids, with an inevitable clash between them all, on who deals the killing stroke. Or after Guilliman gets the honor, from reaching the end first, and things go to shit just after.

After being exposed to Warhammer Fantasy and how inter-faction relations in that universe work, I WANT the 40k factions to work together in more long term things overall. The actual reason I said in that way is not because I want the Necrons to take over everything unopposed, it's to highlight that, because they aren't Space Marines, GW will not allow them to do anything, because they hate every xenos faction they create and even hate the Daemons compared to the fucking Space Marines in both the Imperium and Chaos.

If your attitude was 100% on point, Old Bale Eye would be legendary for curb-stomping everything in his path, and we wouldn't even remember WHO he crushed. Instead, through that story, Thraka is acknowledged as a major player. Guilliman will likely be the guy to cut the head off the snake, yes, and the sleepy ones are likely to be that way specifically to facilitate that, and Thraka will be kept busy by something, but it will be JUST enough to let Guilliman fulfill the reason he was brought back to begin with. And afterward, I think all bets are going to be off, because you don't take a whole faction out of the game and then just send everybody home to retire in peace. The shit is going to really hit the fan once the bugs are gone, and GW can't do that without giving the xenos their due. What's the alternative? End the wars? Only one choice here.
