He hasn't made any changes according to current lore. He's just not enforcing it anymore. If chapters want to continue following it then they can. If others want to deviate and/or ignore it altogether he won't get in the way. The latter makes it so that both the Space Wolves and the Black Templars won't have to hide their true numbers. If rumors about upcoming events are even half true then I wouldn't be surprised if most of the Dark Angels successor chapters get reintegrated back to being Dark Angels.

@@alexbrinzan9061 For the most part they continue to do what they've done. Space Wolves don't follow it and Black Templars just continue to make more crusades. The Ultramarines and their successor are adjusting to their gene-sire being back but conflicted that the book they've thought of as holy is now to be seen as just a book of guides and not hard law. It's not even the Codex Astartes that gets the most push back on but the Primaris Marines that Guilliman is pushing for all chapters to adopt.

One thing few mention is that the Emperor is now, for all intents and purposes, entirely a warp entity, and has to spend considerable power to just keep his body just barely alive enough to plug the webway gate. This is also comically, unimaginably torturous and painful, which is probably the main reason he doesn't communicate much in a comprehensible manner - after all, he's a completely regular guy, just with ludicrous psychic powers, and those can't really help with mitigating the pain of being beaten to death and tortured in every conceivable and inconceivable way at once - I mean, if you were jumped by 100 dudes and they were constantly beating the shit out of you, you wouldn't really be able to focus on talking to your friends much, no?

In the novella Eye of Terra, Horus describes the Emperor as "combat perfected" as he's slaughtering dozens of top tier cyborg orks with his bluesteel blade, his powerclaw and just crushing them with his mind. In Path of Heaven, Horus admits to Mortarion that the reason they haven't just beelined straight for Terra and are instead going around slaughtering his followers is that Emps "isn't some petty warlord on a barren rock" and that if they don't persecute him and his followers in exactly the right way, deny him as many souls on the wall as possible, and trap him like a rat in his Palace then they have no way of making sure he doesn't escape or win the final battle. In "After De'shea" Kharn describes the War Hounds fighting alongside the Emperor, and how when xenos formations met where he was fighting, they weren't just destroyed they were eradicated like a fist holding an active grenade.

I just thought of a question I don't think I've ever seen addressed. How big is the Corpse Emperor? Since he is now operating without his biomancy and illusions, is his corpse that of some random normal sized guy? My own theory to Russ out eating and out drinking the Emperor is that for all his power, the Emperor is still a normal sized guy. He had nowhere to put it the way a 10 foot tall Leman Russ did. Maybe if he used his power but that would have been glaringly obvious and he was trying to be discreet at that point.

spacemarine kits always had/have extra pouches, grenades etc.. its up to the builders to add them, if you wanna see art with marines with pouches look for the raptors chapter. all my marines have extra kit strapped to their belts

The Emperor waited for the age of strife due to tactical reasons not out of simply ones might he could destroy the universe if he wants to but rather chose a more tactical approach, if you seek to passively conquer a country you don't do it out of force he waited till they needed a hero so they would welcome him rather than meet opposition, also doesn't help your cause when you frag the race you seek to lead. I think he is a creation of a force beyond the gods of the warp or even the old ones and yet not very well known, it is possible that the golden throne is simply a mere inconvenience most likely stretching him wide across the galaxy if it were to be turned off he probably would regenerate, get up, stretch, and want to beat somethings face in. or he might just stay a corpse between life and death for the immense power he holds thanks to the near death situation he's in, it's also easier for him to tweak the scales here and there to better guide fate to the future he desires in his current state.

The Pariah gene is basically useless now anyway, in the Eisenhorn books he has a blank who is really useful, but later in the Ravenor books Dan Abnett must have decided it would cause too many problems for his stories so he invented a gadget that the blank wears to switch the blankness off, also nullifying the whole point of Bequin (the blank) in the previous books. Just another example of 40k authors complete disregard for the lore that in some case they created themselves.

I always took his forcing the Word Bearers to kneel less an act of raw power but actually enhanced by their belief in his godhood which gave him greater control over them. I'm unaware of any support for this in the fluff but I think it ties nicely into his hatred of religion and his not wanting to be worshiped. A "When you worship something this is the power it gains over you" kind of thing.
