I imagine the difference between Dorn and Perty is Dorn would make a lot of functional things, he builds grand highways and space stations, while Perty builds amazing museums, galleries, aqariums, they work together to make the most effective pleasure world where Perty builds the things for pleasure and Rogal builds the ways to get from one to another, so members of the imperium can experience everything the planet has to offer in a short visit. This would together be their magnum opus, however they screwed up and didnt realise humans dont like to be rushed through a bunch of different things so nobody really visits the planet.

I weirdly imagine Lorgar and angron would still transform into daemon primarchs after their death, as they would essentially be the only traitor primarchs, but without enough strength from daemons or mortals, they’d essentially be playing checkers in hell out of frustration for not being able to do anything meaningful

Anyone who says that has to legitimately be stupid. A: not everything has to be/remain grimdark. B: as majorkill said most if not all of the primarchs and their legions would go against the emperor if he tried purging them. C: even if the emperor succeeded it would be the most grimderp thing ever for the emperor to just destroy a perfectly good army, especially considering in this setting the necrons are still a major threat, at any moment the tyranids could still show up, the orcs could become a threat again, and chaos is constantly scheming. Sure the space marines don’t have much to do in this setting but it’s better to be a soldier in a farm than a farmer in a war.

If the imperium never had the heresy. The imperium would most likely have better tech. Then the Tau and it is the Tau who would need the reverse engineer the imperium's tech. The Tau is the normal setting is a recent discovery and the imperium had already shat their pants when they meet. If the imperium never fallen the admech would probably found and recover a lot more STC before meeting the Tau and the technological regression would never happened

Theoretical: Angron wouldn't die to the nails because the Eldar wouldn't see a future with the Horus Heresy, thus wouldn't self-fulfil the prophecy that leads him to become who he did Practical: Eldar are dicks and get their visions jank all the time and follow them blindly, so would've probably left Angron defenseless to the slavers anyways

@@kira68200 astronomicon and golden throne arent necessarily linked, to my knowledge it could be and was powered remotely by the Emperor (although it probably didnt shine as bright) the golden throne was more important to keep the webway closed (thats why malcador had to sacrifice himself to prevent the palace from getting anally penetrated by a daemonic horde) so magnus could just fuck about with his pops looking for warp knowledge and only needing to sit on the glorified toilet seat to prevent eldar raids and shit.

This is over a year late and idk if you either already know the answer, or no longer care, but for anyone wondering from OP's comment, Vulkan as the "door guardian" is moreso talking about Vulkan's role during the Siege of Terra. After the Imperium's defeat during the War in the Webway, Vulkan, having fought his way across the galaxy and webway, was found on Terra and guided by the Emperor to install the Talisman of Seven Hammers into the Golden Throne to act as a Deadmans Switch if the Emperor were to die. The whole Vulkan serving as a guardian is talking about how after the Talisman was installed, and Terra's defenders were on their last legs, Vulkan took up his hammer, Urdrakule, at the entrance to the Webway portal in preparation in the scenario that the portal would open and a literal infinite wave or daemons and chaos space marines were to flood the palace, in an effort to prevent them from reaching the Golden Throne. Vulkan was essentially serving as a direct mirror to Sanguinius. Vulkan to the Webway portal as Sanguinius was to the Eternity Gate.

I think this is a good setup for a Lorgar Heresy fanfic where the Word Bearers serve Chaos in secret for much longer, planting cults on nearly every Imperial world. So a fuckhuge war still happens but rather than conventional set piece battles and "good guys vs. bad guys" you have the Imperium turning on itself and characters fighting each other due to lack of trust and paranoia

honestly i think its better then current 40k. a moderately OK galaxy that is renewing itself and learning from past mistakes slowly but surely, unifying to fight the existential threat that is the necrons if they were even partially unified, with maybe the tyranids showing up somewhere to make things more complicated. still dark, still filled with some horrors, but not over the top shitfest like current 40k, and allows for some amount of progress and hope. i think its a nice thought.

Dorn and Pert ending up as real bros is probably the part I like the most, their rivalry (while petty much of the time) is understandable. Despite Perturabo being whiny child through the Crusade it would be good to see him not only getting to do what he loved but finding a kindred soul in Dorn (and probably Sanguinius as well with his penchant for the arts for its own merit [vs Fulgrim’s take])

There still would have been a Heresy in one way or another considering that the Emperor wasn’t able to mend his relationship with many of his sons like Cruze, Angorn, Morty, and Lorgar. Some of his sons were already being affected by Chaos like Fulgrim and Magnus, while Lorgar was practically worshiping them in secret. There was enough family drama within the Imperium that would have started a Civil War, and Horus staying loyal wouldn’t have changed that, though it would have changed the sheer scale of destruction that could have happen.

Once the Eye of Terror is gone... Konrads insanity for staring at it is gone too. So the problems wouldnt have gone super crazy without Horus You have to remember, Horus was thr mpst HUMAN, intelligent, reasonable and political of all the Primarchs by FAR In the short time he was Warmaster, he did a MUCH better job of handling his brothers than the Emperor did while he was leading the Great Crusade Horus almost laid down his own life to stop a war with the Interex, because he thought it was the right thing to do... he was almost begging his men to let him stay and try to negotiate while they butchered the Lunar wolves and tried to kill him He was by far, the greatest of all the Primarchs

It would have been much smaller, and multiple. Lorgar and Mars would have had their own Rebellions eventually. Magnus would have as well. Lorgar would probably be the first, but it would solidify bonds with the remaining Primarchs. Magnus eventually would have had to be erased if he wasn't seated on the Golden Throne before he could rebel.

He even went to Terra and talkednwith the Emperor, the only reason he rebelled (Last minute of the Heresy) was because his sons had gone too far into chaotic sorcery and The Emperor demanded he forsake and kill Ahriman and his sons. So even after hisbworld was burned, his legion destroyedz his body and soul broken.... he STILL was loyal I csnt see how that translates to "ahe would have turned anyways) If you had said Angron, Perterabo or Mortarion, i would agree... but Magnus?

Accurate or not, and it sounds rather accurate to me, your video does paint a pretty good picture of what king of utopia the Imperium would have been if Chaos and Horus didn't ruin it all and how sad and tragic the current setting is. I almost wish that GW would make a brief "what-if" series to show more in detail what would have happened and further cement the grim darkness of the main story.

- Magnus the Red gets to sit on the Golden Throne and fulfill the task he was created for, using the Aeldari Gate on Terra to use as an alternative means of interstellar travel, plus he gets to establish the Adeptus Librarius as a means to train Librarians. - Lorgar realizes the error of his ways and fully immerses himself into the teachings of the Imperial Truth. - Perturabo reconciles with Rogal Dorn and the quickly became close brothers and uses both their expertise in siege warfare to expand the Imperium's territories. - instead of teleporting Angron into his flagship, the Emperor sends the full might of the World Eaters Legion to assist their gene-father and defeated the slavers and brought Imperial compliance on Nuceria, and uses ancient Aeldari/Dark Age technology to remove the butcher's nails - Horus resisted the temptations of Chaos and upon recovering quickly destroys the cultists of Davin and warns the Emperor of the Ruinous Powers upon his return to Terra - Mortarion was healed by the Emperor and allows him to exact his vengeance on his adopted father. - Fulgrim was saved from the Laer blade by Ferrus Manus before he was further corrupted by it. - Konrad Kurze was able to overcome his nightmarish visions with the help of the Emperor and Magnus. - Alpharius was Alpharius.

I have no idea how power scaled up Age of Sigmar is, but the fantasy world could takedown one probably for sure with magic and sheer numbers eventually. I don't think Sigmar or anybody is strong enough to beat all the primarchs. The legions for sure with their millions of marines would have the planet subdued for sure.

I personally think the Imperium was set up for a civil war regardless of if Chaos gets involved or not. Angron, Mortarion, and Perturabo are the easiest picks for kicking something off and perhaps drawing the others into the conflict. They each have grievances against both the Emperor and the Imperium, some legitimate and others not, that I could see boiling over. Angron and Mortarion especially, considering that as far as they're concerned they could easily see the Imperium as all the despotism they dealt with growing up except bigger and plated in gold. Lorgar also has a good chance of getting drawn in since if Monarchia is still bombed to rubble then even without Chaos' involvement he might come to believe the Emperor is not someone worthy of worship or a leader worth following. There's a possibility, depending on how this civil war kicks off, that Jagahatai may join. He says outright he understands the Emperor is a tyrant and that one of the biggest factors in him rejecting Horus in canon is that he recognized the Warmaster was swiftly becoming a monstrous puppet to the Ruinous Powers. Likely contingent on how tyrannical the Imperium gets, which considering it's the Imperium it was pretty awful on this end even during the Great Crusade, there's an off chance Corax might decide this government he fought for is ultimately not much different than the tyranny he overthrew in his youth and grow disillusioned. This might also lead to his own involvement. So that's potentially six Primarchs you could make a case for rebelling against the Imperium even without Chaos showing up. Ultimately a smaller conflict than the Heresy, but still devastating in scope and scale. The Primarchs are all larger than life figures with enormous egos and the capability to back said egos up. With such long lifespans and clashing personalities it's not a stretch to believe that at some point grievances would pile up and become violence. The Imperium was always a house of cards precariously being held up, with the intent being it might hold long enough for the Emperor to succeed at his wider goals. I'm just of the opinion that no matter what happens civil war would break out before said goals are fully achieved.

In matter of fact, the last bit of my role in the uncorrupted imperium was quit on the spot. The "Alpha Legion" should be the shadow behind the other's and always be there watching. Our role was not in the front of Konflikt, politics or discovery, but always be there and helping guiding things in the right direction and protect from the inside. Dorn and Perturabo would never be friends. There was simply too much hatred for Dorn and the Emperor's obvious favouritism towards the Imperial Fists inside Perty, and it would have boiled over into some kind of conflict eventually. Lorgar would have attempted to kick off an alternate version of the Heresy himself, but because he is a weak-ass bitch boy and his legion are a bunch of losers, he'd need some serious backup from the Chaos Gods. He does have his Primarch Power of being able to preach at people really effectively though, which is similar to Horus's charisma, but he's so much weaker and less imposing than Horus that I doubt many of the other legions would listen to him. He'd get dogpiled the moment he declared for Chaos. Fulgrim would have probably resisted the Laer Blade without Horus pushing him further down the spiral. He was ultra devoted to Big E and had strong enough willpower to resist the daemon in the sword multiple times in canon. Unless Chaos went extra hard at him to get him to fall, which they probably would have done seeing as Slaanesh had a foot in the door already. Bear in mind too that Erebus would still be around to fuck things up for everybody, and would probably choose to go after Fulgrim to get him to fall. Fulgrim I can see actually organising a better attempt at the Heresy than Lorgar, since he's stronger, more skilled, more charismatic, and more beloved by other legions and his brother Primarchs. Also the chaotic elements within his own Legion would have attempted to further corrupt him like that did in canon. But, I think it was Horus and his charisma and presence that ultimately tipped Fulgrim over the edge. I don't think he'd just toss the sword away and unfuck his legion overnight, and there would have been SOME kind of fallout from picking up the sword in the first place. But ultimately I can see he'd either manage to redeem himself or end up being put down by the Emperor. The Fulgrim Heresy might have been pretty cool though. Leman and Mortarion would definitely not be happy about the big E reversing his decision to ban all psykers, but honestly that's a dumbass decision he should never have made in the first place. Regardless, they're not going to succeed in arguing with the greatest psyker in the galaxy. Leman would come to heel as you said, and honestly I can see Mortarion doing the same. He already did once before when the Emperor ganked his necrodad and made him his bitch, and he'd know he couldn't openly oppose him. With Russ and the wolves falling in line he'd lose his main ally and be forced to do the same. If he did resist it wouldn't last long with the Emperor being able to personally walk over and bitchslap him instead of being stuck on the throne. Konrad.... was probably always a lost cause. Unless the Emperor was able to dedicate time and resources into fixing his broken visions so they stopped driving him crazy, eventually something would have given. He'd still have been declared renegade and still have blown up Nostromo. But without a banner to flock to, the Night Lords would probably just have ended up as a renegade legion rather than a traitorous legion, unless Chaos decided they wanted Konrad and devoted effort into making him fall, which he'd have always seen coming and might allow to happen considering how he met his end in canon. So either the Night Lords become space pirates or Konrad goes full chaos and takes them with him. And if *Konrad* led the Heresy, things might have been VERY different for chaos, since only really Sanguinius and Lion El Johnson would have been able to beat him in combat due to his futuresight and skill in combat. Angron would be turbo dead as stated, and his legion probably broken up and absorbed into other legions after having their butcher's nails removed. Probably the biggest difference is that if the Heresy never happens, the legions would never get broken up into chapters, so we'd have a post great crusade galaxy with giant spsce marine legions running around in it. But this means some of the crazier chapters never get to do their thing, so no Black Templars on permanent crusade fucking up xenos, no Flesh Tearers murdering the everloving fuck out of every enemy they face and then doing the same to their allies, and no weird attempts to make new chapters bytampering with geneseed, so no cursed or dark foundings. So yeah, without Horus's fall, probably either Fulgrim, Konrad or Lorgar would potentially be the ones to kick off the Heresy, with varying degrees of effectiveness depending on who becomes Chaos's poster boy. If there is no heresy, then we get full strength legions and their Primarchs running around beating the piss out of everything that isn't a human loyal to the Emperor, and the Emperor himself would be in a position to lead them.
