I love the animation styles for their games but I honestly think if Nintendo got him, their games would be better at telling stories. There's just something about how each character moves, reacts, and their eyes that could make one believe they were real. There's just something with his style that makes me like each and every character. Except for The Happy Mask Salesman -- No matter what, he is really creepy to me!

The scene with Link running from Saria in the original game, I always thought/pictured it as Link pushing himself to leave, because he might change his mind and stay if he embraces her or stays too long. Because he knows he has to go but doesn’t want to, so in order to keep true to what he must do, he runs. He runs because he must, and perhaps so she doesn’t see him crying. He wants to look tough in front of her. Imo, its one of the best scenes in any Zelda game even without seeing Links face, and without any dialogue once he starts backing up. I thought it was powerful. I feel like at least some of that was the intent of the developers.

Watching this made me realize: all of you guys put so much effort into those videos. That is so amazing to see and it makes me appreciate it even more! I love how all of you really have passion for what you do. Also, you have a valid point when you said Link in the games is most of the times pretty much emotionless. And I think you found a great solution. By still keeping him a 'silent protagonist' while giving him more emotions, it makes it easier for me to relate to him. Because I think that is the actual fun when you play a game, trying to understand the emotions of a protagonist that you have been playing the whole time like he represents you in the game. Yeah, when something really bad happens, Link shows some emotions, but mostly he is shocked or determined or angry, nothing really too deep. You give him more emotions, like sadness, regrets, true happiness. You show us that he can be more like a real person, but still represent what I feel, what i think and honestly, Nintendo should get a little bit of inspiration from your videos. Would improve the games and could easily turn them into my favorite franchise (even though they are still great games) Unfortunately, I'm really bad when it comes to computer stuff... so I probably won't animate anything anytime soon xD I'll focus on other things instead I guess... and maybe in a few years I'll think about it again... Because it's never too late to learn new stuff right? :D Anyway, I've been writing so much unrelated things again lol Better end this comment. You are all awesome, thanks for the great work and if anything I wrote sounds kinda strange, I apologize. I'm from Germany. Me no good in English. (That one was on purpose tho)

The fact you don’t use voice overs and the way you use the text is perfect. You capture so much with the way you do it, and I feel not only is it better this way, but you capture the feel of the games too. You bring the whole thing to life. You tell things in ways words can’t, and it’s so much more deeper and pulls everyone in as they watch it. Absolutely amazing.

Thanks for this and for all of your incredible creations. The Zelda franchise is masterful at telling simple yet impactful stories, while also leaving room for the player to experience and relate on many different levels. This is something I love about Zelda. There are many games and series out there with more complex stories and fleshed out characters. But Zelda is special in the way it tells its stories. You've conveyed those feelings incredibly well - like if your animations were inserted into Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, etc. I feel like they would mesh seamlessly with the game and take nothing away from the way the stories are told. I love how your videos give us a deeper look into the narrative while remaining true to the original content. You are amazing! Thank you for all that you do.

Thank you Sean! You are the greatest! I'm not even kidding you, I think you make the greatest Zelda animations ever, trumping the real cutscenes even. I feel bad for saying this, but I hope you stay on this child era/ocarina of time track. Ocarina of time is my absolute favorite and seeing all this makes me die. I have this "problem"(its not a problem but its so much it could be seen as bad) where I get SOOO invested into the lore and stories of video games and movies, and OoT takes the cake. So seeing these makes me the happiest person ever!

aaaaaah hullo! this is fascinating. even your sketches are beautiful!! you talking about the original cutscene made me realize, I never realized how much emotion I was inserting into the cutscenes that wasn't there. like, I always thought Link running away/saying nothing bc he was about to cry/had too many emotions to handle so instead of letting Saria see he just freaked out. i didn't agree w/ and it made me sad, but i figured "well he's just a kid".... that's why i was so happy finding your remake vids, especially OoT's ending one-- suddly everything I always "saw" in my head was on the screen. cathartic but also incredibly painful; so much has happened since then...... losing my twinbro who who my Nintendo "partner" just heaps emotion onto already emotional things... anyway sorry for the ramble your vids make me think ehehe. Thanks for having a part about the music!!! PS I'm really interested in pencil art bc I wanna learn to draw and pencils seem the easiest way to start for me... knowing that they can still be elaborate makes me have hope/more confidence

I had just gotten into the zelda fandom and I was having the same problems as you did with Links' lack of reactions. I wanted Link to have more of a personality and character. Your animations fixed that for me and I look at Link a lot more differently now. I am bummed I don't have the nostalgia others have but I sure as hell am gonna create those memories! I am amazed by the quality of your work and I will continue to support you and your projects!
