Make 8: Patchwork Journal Cover…and many random diversions and musings.

This scored 13/10 for me in terms of how much I loved putting it together for my best friend. She is a published poet and scholar and mentioned in passing one time we were shopping together she wanted to buy a journal/notebook cover for her poetry drafts. I stored that idea away until I stumbled across this kit from Treehouse Textiles and this idea was born.

I bought the kit here and then changed out some of the pieces for vintage ones I had in my stash and added some extra embellishments.

Oh The Rose's mad me tear up... I don't know why.😢 and yes I have tyed dyed many times when me grand babies were smaller. I find we got better results with RUBBER BANDS instead of twine or sting. We did t-shirts and cotton sheets for curtains in a play house... it was fun and SWEET MEMORIES ❤❤❤

I see it all the time in my volunteer role sorting linens....quilts arrive that have been lovingly stitched and it is very sad...and yet, sometimes they come home with me, and I know that it reached my hands for that very reason...like people, we can't save them all, but some, we can, and it's enough.🙏❤✂️🧵
