Thank you Kate....for this great tutorial and for answering my question!! When I first started junk journaling, I didn't really have an "aesthetic" so to speak. I collected so much stuff that I thought I should have and now a lot of it sits on my shelf (might need to have a yard sale or something...lol). I now tend to gravitate to colours more than specific themes and am really drawn to the soft pastels and muted earth tones. Like you, most off my preferred paper pads will co-ordinate even though they are from different collections and manufacturers!! I love that you just let the papers speak to you and lead you as you craft rather than conforming to a pre-set plan!! Looking forward to this 5-part series and seeing all that your creative mind comes up with!! Thanks again, Kate!

It can be so hard to narrow down when you're trying to figure out what you like! But yes drowning supplies is pretty chaotic! I narrowed down my stash by giving a bunch to my sister and niece who have started junk journaling. I also did a bunch of swaps where I could give it to people who would appreciate it, and then I also just tried to use a bunch up and made a little pile of journals. It took a while but I've finally got it simplified and it's pretty marvelous!

Oh Kate Kate Kate, you boggle my mind. I do have a quick request. Is there any way that you could give us a supply list either in the beginning or at the end of each segment for the next one so that we can craft with you? I love love love your videos. Keep up the amazing work.
@KateMower3 жыл бұрын
Oh Linda if only I was that organized!! 😂 I pretty much always use 12x12 scrapbook papers, a handful of writing papers, glue, and then the rest is just decorative. It should work with any paper and you can alter any concepts to fit your style. I see how having a list would be helpful, but I’m not sure what to put on it besides a variety of paper, glue, and ephemera of your choice. What else would you want to know?
@lindaavila53773 жыл бұрын
@@KateMower That pretty much covers it. As I continued to watch the video I kind of realized that it wasn’t a long list. I just love your style. I can’t wait to see the finished journal you were talking about. I know that it will be your personal journal but I hope that you will share it with us when it’s complete. Thanks so much for quick response. Stay safe and I’ll see you soon (on your next video).
@KateMower3 жыл бұрын
@@lindaavila5377 I think the first few videos I let people know that they just need paper and they should use what they have but I think I stopped saying that. I think I'll start saying that again so we can all start the video knowing what to expect. Thank you for this feedback! I really appreciate it so much!!

I, too, like the bright, fun, spring-summer look and feel, but most everything is geared towards vintage for junk journals. I've had to be creative and make alot of my own stuff. (Secretly, I don't mind ! 😊)
@KateMower3 жыл бұрын
Yes I feel like most journals are vintage style. I seem drawn to the bright scrapbook look but would like to get better at merging vintage themes using real ephemera with bright and happy colors. 🙌💖

I’d love to help! So you have your base page (the one that you’ll sew into your signature) and then you’re wondering where it is that you add the page that turns it into a panel. Right? If that’s not the part you want clarification on then let me know! Are you on Instagram? I can make and post a video that shows it better on my Instagram to show you. My Instagram handle is @katesjunkjournals
