This holiday season I made this loom that jewelry makers use for beading. I decided to customize it and want to show you the process I used in making it. Also ....sorry for the bad joke @ the end!

I want to thank you for posting this I thought that I would be able to make a beading loom just as you have currently I am homeless and I have been making spare money by making keychains and bracelets and I have been asked about making beaded bracelets that would require me to use a loom I can no longer find them in my local stores so it's awesome to see that I can actually make a very affordable one by using scrap pieces from the cutting table at home Depot and just a few other things that I will need to purchase and it would probably cost me less than $10 plus I love making stuff with my hands. It's crazy that I started making jewelry when my mother passed away and I really didn't have much interest in jewelry and how much I have been able to accomplish with making it the encouragement I have received from my community to keep making it's unbelievably awesome. And I thought that not having a beading loom was going to be a difficult obstacle for me to get around but nope you showed me how easily I can knock it out of my way thanks a lot. Stayed blessed

That's awesome! What beader wouldn't want to be the recipient of such a cool, personalized gift? How would the beader adjust the tension on the warp threads (that run the length of the loom)? I think it would be hard to string the warp threads with even tension when just tying them to an eye hook. Plus, thread stretches when under tension. How would the beader take up the slack? On the metal loom you showed at the beginning, this function is achieved by the wooden rollers. Loosen the roller's wing net, rotate the roller to tighten the tension, then tighten up the wing nut. I do have one suggestion, if anyone else will be making one. Please make one of the end pieces that hold the rod several inches taller than the other end piece. The user would work with the shorter end toward their body and taller end further from their body. This allows the beader to better see what they are doing as the work progresses, without having to stretch and bend over or to pick up the loom. I work on one of the little metal looms like you showed in the beginning. I finally mounted it on wood to make the loom angle down toward me. Eliminated a LOT of stress on my back and neck as I work.

Awesome work. The only thing I might change is to have the threaded rods a bit higher to be a bit more comfortable when feeding through the underside, but that is all preference.

Nice. I'm looking for one that stands up a little and not sit flat. I think it would be easier than looking straight down while working with the beads to strings.

Cute but the metal threads will hurt the warp and the base limits one from using hand underneath. I asked the hardware store for some springs but they weren't very cooperative

How wonderful! I wish I had someone who would be so attentive and would make this for me,or even surprise me with this. That`s a really great idea and an awsome present. The only thing that bathered me a little bit,was the waste of the blue material, when you cut it right in the middle :( Thank you very much for sharing :))

Hello Christopher, Yesterday I saw your video of how you made the personalized beading loom. I would like to order one from you personalized for Lexi. I am a jewelry designer/artisan owner of Lexi Butler Designs. I am going to make a lot of wire wrapped bracelets with leather and gemstones/crystals and this tool would be really awesome to work with. The only thing that I would need you to change is to replace one end hook with a 40 degree angled screw with a medium-large round head so I can tie my leather cords ( up to 4 each 1.5 mm ) securely without slipping off. Would you please make me one? The size of 12 inches in length x 4 inches in width with a slip proof bottom too. 😊 I wrote you an email to.
