I am in my golden years. Uh huh. I stay tired and have looked for things to help with that. I have been quilting for 40 years. taut myself as best i could, then I found PBS and started to learn why I had the problems I had. this is all well and good but ...... then I found MSQco and you have opened new doors for me. I love how your mind works; I find it incredible how you rethink how quilts are put together and make them even better and easier. please keep doing the wonderful things you do. thanks so much barb may.

I am SO excited!!! Approximately 34 years ago I bought fabric for a Bear Paw quilt in anticipation of the birth of my first son (no idea why I decided on such a complex quilt for a total novice--and I still am by the way). So instead of making a beautiful quilt, I gave up. But now there's hope. I may be able to do this after all! Thanks, Jenny. This is encouraging!!!!

All of your hard work is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. Although I am crocheting right now, I still quilt also. I purchased Plum perfect charm pack, 2x night at the opera charm pack and 1 layer cake of the same and a handful of templates including the 5" tumbler and the layer cake sized Dresden. I am actually making my first quilt out of some flannel by the yard and a flannel jelly roll i got at a local big box store and incorporating that with some receiving blankets that were a friends daughters. I am making the quilt for her daughter as a keepsake. I plotted out all of the types of squares i want to make and need the dresden template to make a few if them. I know i have taken a huge undertaking with this project, and i had actually posted a plea for help under another video today (disappearing pinwheels) as i wasn't planning to sash the quilt and really wanted to do the whole thing myself and need to figure out how to quilt-as-you-go for this one. I may have to sash it, but i wont know until i get all if the blocks made and laid out. I would love to send a pic if the finished product to you all as 99.9% of what I know about quilting has been learned by watching Jenny. As for the material i bought from you, i am so excited to make a nice lap blanket and maybe even a couple of pillows out of them, and maybe a bag too. I love the night at the opera fabric!

I know this is an old video and has tons of comments already, but I just have to tell you how grateful I am for these simple instructions. I spent several hours yesterday trying to follow the directions of another well known channel to make the bear paw block. I finally ended up so frustrated after cutting, sewing, ripping and doing it all over again that I just threw the whole mess in the trash can. Seriously, who cuts 2 7/8" squares??? Anyway, I got my second wind and went searching again for easier instructions and lo and behold....there was Jenny to my rescue! I have just completed one very successful, beautiful Bear Paw Block and I have enough confidence to tackle a throw size quilt. As a new quilter, I just can't thank you folks enough for the great tutorials and everything else you do for us.

I loved how you made this so simple Jenny. I just bought a Baby Lock Elizabeth and she and I are looking for some fun stuff to make. I'm so glad you showed the variations (with animation) on how this pattern would look if I chose baby bear. I'm not to keen on so much white so I'm thinking of trying a solid yellow (my favorite color) strip that will end up in the center. I'll try complete square first too see if that pleases my eyes.
