I am retired now, but we used to run a plastic bottle crate shredder, 600 HP, shredded around 5 tons per hour for recycling the plastic, Our car shredder (hammer shredder) was 6,000 HP and shredded about 2-3 cars per minute, including separating the steel, copper, aluminium as well as the glass and plastic scrap...

Very impressive. Superb build quality. Well done.

What if the bike could still be mobile. Then you could ride around a park and collect plastic. And people would love to give you their water bottles and stuff instead of in the trash

Hey Great job The world needs a agricultural scrap shredder as presently the ones in use pollute the environment a lot as they run on primitive Diesel engines which are not regulated for pollution especially in less developed countries and marginal farmers. Was wondering about being able to modify your bicycle design to suit this purpose ! Great going guys ! Regards From India Wayne

I have seen the most updated plans for the human-powered shredder on Precious Plastic and I want to know how much plastic can potentially be shredded per hour on average to decide if I make that one or go motorized. Please let me know!! :)

probably a silly comment, but after shredding the plastic are you re-extruding in house? Or sending to a processing plant somewhere else? Great video!

About one month ago I learnt about Precious Plastic and since then I saw already many video made by you. When I first time saw the "classic" plastic shredder you made, I was thinking that it should be possible to make the shredder (wo)man powered, ideal for places where no electricity is available. And now I found this video............... I suppose it's a prototype and there will be some changes in the future. The classic shredder seemed more "productable", is it not possible to connect a classic one to a bicycle?

Good job! The mechanism is great! What is the average speed of the blade? where did you find them? best regards tom

This way plastic can fly everywhere and get more plastic particles on the dirty floor, to me this is less efficient shredder then the traditional precious plastic shredder design.

How does the blade look like ?

Really good stuff here but why aren't you selling this product privately to a community of people there are plenty that would like to take better care of our environment and this could really help with reducing the amount of plastic waste we produce I my self have lots of construction related ideas that would require materials such as high density poly ethylene and other plastics but to get the amount I need I would need one of these machines and dont have the means or funding g to build one?
